Guwahati, July 13 2010: Separatists in the Northeast are now looking up to China for support to achieve sovereignty.

This revelation was made by two Chinese spies arrested in Nagaland recently.

Senior leaders of six separatist groups of the Northeast four from Manipur, one each from Nagaland (NSCN-K) and Assam (Ulfa) had met in Bangladesh in the first week of July.

The motive was to form a 'United Front' in order to get Chinese largesse, sources told Express on condition of anonymity.

Quoting the spies, the sources said the Manipur-based People's Liberation Army (PLA) insisted on a 'United Front' of the extremist groups to get Chinese support and achieve sovereignty.

"The United Front so formed will be able to get Chinese support and fight the enemy to achieve sovereignty," the spies told their interrogators quoting the PLA.

Beijing, the spies revealed, promised to extend assistance only when the cadre strength of the separatists reaches 30,000 .

Another reason behind formation of the proposed United Front was to put up a fight against Naga insurgents NSCN(IM) in Manipur.

The PLA emphasised on having good nexus with the Maoists and with terror groups of J& K and the Northeast.

The outfit said that Maoist parties of foreign countries were also keen on forging ties with them.

R K Meghan, chairman of UNLF (another Manipur based extremist group), reiterated the aim to achieve independence of Manipur and integration of Kabaw Valley of Myanmar.

He expressed the desire of having good relationship with NSCN (K), PLA and the ULFA, pressing upon having strong bondage with Ulfa military chief Paresh Barua in restoring the glory of the Ahoms and the Meiteis (Manipuris) confederacy

Care to tell me where India openly supported Tibetan cause??India has openly issued statement that it recognizes Tibet as an integral part of China..Before opening the mouth try to update your self about the current situation..India also assured China that her soil will not be used for anti -China activities..Dalai Lama is a refugee here in India..He is a religious leader of one of the religion here in India..he will stay here in India as long as he likes ...

A little correction my friend India recognizes Tibet as an integral part of China. So there is no question of OPEN support.

The one-track anti-India mind has prevented many Pakistanis from seeing the facts, including some 'respected' Elite members. Before questioning India's support for Dalai Lama, try to understand what the man stands for. He has said, multiple times, and on record in front of international audiences that he does not want freedom for Tibet, just religious autonomy, and restricted migration of Han Chinese into the territory. India strongly supports that, and so should any sane country. Shamefully, the Chinese media and the over-enthusiastic Pakistanis compare the great man (internationally renowned and respected for peace) to hate-mongering, venom-filled terrorists like Hafiz Saeed.

The Dalai Lama came here as a refugee and India has the duty to protect the religious leader. You want us to "hand-over" a holy man to the Chinese because they believe he is fomenting trouble in Tibet through his speeches. And yet take the "freedom of speech" route when you graciously host Saeed and other terrorists for a Jihadi meeting in Pakistan.

Does this story have any credence at all? If the story is true and two Chinese spies have indeed been arrested, one would definitely expect the Indian government to go public with it. Is there any official confirmation? I am confident that this is another one of those fabricated stories feeding on Indian paranoia.
