North Korea shows off new missile
North Korea has unveiled what appears to be a new missile at a military parade in Pyongyang.
The missile was shown on Sunday during celebrations for the centennial of the birth of late North Korean founder Kim Il Sung.
It is a possible addition to an arsenal that has raised international worries heightened by its simultaneous development of nuclear weapons.

On Friday, North Korea's heralded long-range rocket test ended in failure, disintegrating in mid-air soon after blastoff and plunging into the sea in a major embarrassment for the reclusive state.
The defiant launch on Friday drew condemnation from world leaders who described it as a "provocative" act threatening regional security, despite Pyongyang insisting it was intended to put a satellite into orbit for peaceful purposes.
Those are two three-stage missiles carried on large, eight-axle vehicles. YTN describes them as being about 18 m long and about 2 m in diameter. Thats much smaller than the TD-2 not bigger, as the Chosun Ilbo had claimed. (Really, who could imagine a mobile missile almost half the length of a football field?)
An earlier YTN broadcast, aired before the parade, called the new missile by the name KN-08. That report is summarized in English by AFP here.
