However, i doubt the North Korean Leadership would be as suicidal to use strategic missiles on Seoul since a strike on Seoul would mean an imminent strike from the United States and other world powers. To do so would definitely condemn the North Korean Regime. Containing North Korea is a responsibility of the Chinese , who have a unique bilateral channel of communication with Kim Jung Un.

Do you think North Korea's isolation is justified considering Cold War ended decades ago? This leader is insane, but if the world wanted, they really could have come to some terms with his father. Continued sanctions for decades has lead to this situation.

In an idealistic and perfect world, yes. The unification of the Korean peninsula should have happened decades ago, however, due to the years of divide between Pyongyang and Seoul and the culture of apprehension both nations have for each other, makes unification even more unlikely. With the course of nuclear weapons acquisition, Pyongyang has thereby guaranteed that they have clout in the negotiating table to deter South Korean military adventurism , and even American + another regional strategic ally that has interests in Korea.

I don't think North Korean will match cross the border with China. I believe it is well contained from Chinese side.
