It IS the other way around, even here the DG ISI would not have been changed if IK had got his way. Let’s hope IK is the first to complete his tenure. How many "Supreme Commanders" have completed their tenure in elected office to date in Pakistan? It may be the other way around.
Who? Pinki Peerni?Aik Brahman NY kaha hy December tak Faiz rhna chahiay warna tum bay Faizy ho jao gy, that's the problem,
Names of DG ISI posting transfer were released to India media days before official ISPR announcement too. Who is responsible for the leaks?Mismanaged by GHQ which is surprising.
IK would have signed nomination papers so a consultation should had been made with PM and then DG ISI name should had been signed and then announced.
It is quiet surprising that GHQ will do this mistake. Management 101 is lacking.
Yeah i saw on twitter. Kuch lahoriyay bajwa sahab ko abu abu keh rahay thay.Ziyada masla media ki qayas araiyan hein baki kuch Lahorio ney rang badal liye hein
Sure the DG ISI appointment is a critically important role, but people ought to know that the DG is in large measure a figure head and has a less of an impact on this institution than people think. ISI has a significant institutional inertia that most DGs do not mess with. More work and decisions are made at a single star level and below than at a 2 star or a 3 star level. As you go higher up in the chain less decisions are made. Infact in many instances depending on who the DG is, some programs and efforts are just not opened up for being read into. The institution just waits for their time to let the DG's time run out. Then a new DG comes in and the institution at that point feels the new DG is more trustworthy, and can open up a bit more, BUT NEVER fully. This level of limited information sharing and compartmentalization is essential in maintaining the professionalism of this institution and the national security of the country. So I realize everyone seems to have their feelings in a bunch with these DG appointments, but I wil always maintain that the one star or col level who becomes a lifer in the institution has far greater sway than some of the bigger wigs. And the good DGs dont probe too much into the workings and allow a high level of independence to exist. The dumb ones that get all operational soon find themselves sidelined by the institutional inertia. It's a beautiful thing.
Not when you have the likes of PPP and nawaz sharif. No thanks. Aik idara bacha hai woh bhi farigh ho jai gaThe army needs to remain subordinate to the civilian leader ship
News was circulating on Pakistan media. Guess it was there on PDF forum few days before. Indian media will twist it their way.Who? Pinki Peerni?

I respectfully disagree with some parts of your analysis. Nothing moves without the No. 1's (DG ISI's) approval --- even small projects can't be pursued by 2-stars without written consent from the 3-star's office. Sure, there is a large amount of permanent and rotating staff that maintains the inertia you mentioned, but Gen Faiz's reorganizing / raising of new wings, etc., is simply not possible without the 3-star's initiative and approval.
But I do agree that junior officers regulate the information that gets to the top. Also, many 'dumb' ones make it to 1-star and sometimes even 2-star, so the internal filtering isn't as good as you'd like it to be
Yes that's what I am asking. Who leaked name of next DG ISI to social media days ahead of official announcement? Who is responsible?News was circulating on Pakistan media. Guess it was there on PDF forum few days before. Indian media will twist it their way.
So now you will stop calling PM Imran Khan selected and puppet of the army?Bunch of lying JOKERS.
