You mean all the 'sacrifices' in maintaining an occupation of disputed territory and reneging on your nation's commitment to allowing the kashmiris to determine their future.
It's a rather distasteful argument - sort of like Hitler trying to defend his atrocities, invasions and occupation by lamenting 'all the sacrifices the brave sons and daughters of Germany have made to maintain the honor, dignity and territorial integrity of the country'.
An injustice is an injustice and what is wrong is wrong - just because your nation is deluded and morally bankrupt enough to 'sacrifice its brave sons and daughters' in order to perpetuate an occupation and violate its commitments to the international community, and more importantly to the people under occupation, does not make your nation's actions any better.
AM.....
It is extremely hypocritical, when you use statements such as "occupation of disputed territory and reneging on your nation's commitment
to allowing the kashmiris to determine their future."
a) Because the Kashmiri's want independence, NOT to be aligned with either India or Pakistan......which according to the argument presented by your country is not an option for the Kashmiri's......
So where does the notion of "allowing the Kashmiri's to determine their future" come into place??....you sound high and mighty like you're fighting for humanity....but Pakistan's cause is purely selfish!!
Tell me would you be comfortable with Independence for Kashmir as an option??
What you're saying is, Kashmiri's have an option to choose between a rock and a hard place......thats it!!!
b) Secondly, the UN charter is non-binding and non-relevant in todays' perspective.....
Even if you hold us by it, the way I see it, it was a commitment made to Pakistan, NOT the Kashmiri's since no one really asked the Kashmiri's whether they really wanted to be aligned with either country.......Pre-Independence, Kashmir wanted to be independent....but was forced to choose sides.....so "the right to plebiscite is Kashmiri's right, but they need to determine their future....not from options presented to them, but how they would like to be treated.....
And just to be clear....we dont care much about keeping our commitment with Pakistan going by your history of breaking deals, shimla, kargil, etc etc..
Which is why the strong stand on 26/11......Maybe its time Pakistan proved itself!!
