"We have just learned from our friends in Emaar that on account of a major technical snag they won't be able to light up Burj Khalifa with the Indian tricolour tonight," Navdeep Singh Suri, the Indian ambassador to the UAE, said.

"A bit of a disappointment for friends who were expecting this," he added.

The Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, is known to showcase national flags of friendly countries on important occasions. Flags of India and Pakistan have been showcased on the tower several times in the past.

The Pakistani national flag was not showcased on the Burj Khalifa on Wednesday, August 14, the country's Independence Day.

They should have light it up with Kashmir flag :agree:

Lol at the "Pakistan flag was not displayed as well."

Actions speak louder than words.

Dude, there wasnt a Pakistan one a day before. Its there way of saying that they are not taking sides here. Unfortunately this is not a situation where you can just sit it out, but they are as morally bankrupt as Indians.

UAE has helped Pakistan several times in the past whenever we needed them. But UAE heavily depends on India and Indians. There are 2 million Indians living and working in UAE and a lot of important positions are held by them (unlike Pakistanis there) and they are deeply embedded in the society. It is very difficult for the UAE to pick sides between India and Pakistan. The best they can do is remain neutral. It is very difficult to persuade them by using just the Muslim card. because Indian Muslims make sure of it. Majority of Indian Muslims support this decision even if they believe this is wrong. This is the only way they can assure Hindus of their loyalty. But they have forgotten the fact that Allah said in Qur'an that you can never please non-believers unless you become one.
May Allah guide us all.

The news article, at the end, unfortunately you don't bother to read anything wholly before commenting.
:) I just wanted you to clear things up and do not mislead the reader.

No, its not their way of showing that they arent taking any sides coz they already said that they support India's decision to abrogate article 370 and 35A.
