No Pride & Joy Tejas Among 75 Aircraft to Fly Past on Republic Day

. .
If not Tejas, "Pejas" should participate.

.
Do you have an option to put up dual engine aircraft (I hope you meant fighters)?
Don’t get angry dude.
Just asking since you mentioned.
Why would single or dual be even a question of performance or display?
For 50 years the PAF operated dual engined tactical fighter and attack aircraft where India was more predominantly single engined focused yet some idiotic Indians kept claiming PaF couldn’t operate them. Even this reasoning right now of not wanting to use single engined aircraft for display seems idiotic at best and dishonest at worst. Is there a genuine concern about aircraft having engine failures and crashing in public? Is maintenance so unreliable?

If you had enough aviation history knowledge the you would know our A5 and F6s were dual engine and used to fly in every fly past until they retired few years back.
I see the reason why Teja gets carried around on a flat bed …. It’s because of the security reason.

I expected a little more informed comment from an advisor. Others are more or less into trolling but you could have given a balanced and an informed view.

A lot of FMs are quoting confidence factor again and again as if it is human factor related. It is not. Being not sure about servicing of aircraft. Laughable claims and comments as if wisdom has been all cornered by these trolls.

Republic Day flypast is held in heart of New Delhi which is highly infested with big birds that couldn’t be curbed inspite of concerted effort. In case of a bird ingestion, a single engine aircraft is unlikely to come out of it and would sure shot cause loss of life on ground, considering expanse of Delhi.

That was the reason a decision was taken long back to not permit single engine aircraft to fly past at low levels over New Delhi. A special concession was taken ( last or last to last year) to allow Tejas flypast.
Otherwise no other single engine aircraft do the fly past at low levels over New Delhi.
Even this reasoning right now of not wanting to use single engined aircraft for display seems idiotic at best and dishonest at worst.
Please keep your trophy of honesty and smartness with you.

IAF doing a wonderful job in keeping a billion fools in the loop.
The losers calling others trolls and what not need a clip around the ears and reminded that PAF not only flies single engine over the heart of the capital but in fact it goes a step further by performing aerobatics in these same single engine Jets... something which is not really required. A PAF Viper pilot who performed in 2005, told me how challenging it was, skyscrapers on one side, Margala hills on the other side, then the Presidency and Parliament building in the line and above all limited area in front of the VIP stand.... something these lowlife Indians can not even fathom
They get goosebumps from so called Stupendous Artistry. 😆

Agreed with boasting of 75 aircraft but only half are fighters and what were you expecting... Tejas to thrill you with it's Formula One turn.... we know it goes around on trailers but Formula One is associated with Racing Cars. Lol.
IN all honestly there is no difference between the commentator who made the analogy to formula one in Dubai and you. The lack of common military knowledge and the need for instant glory puts both of you in the instagrammer mold looking for instant gratification.

The commentator was addressing to characters like you who are already accustomed to certain terminologies, cold start, surgical strikes, BAT, Raptor of the East.... Hell even your PM jumped in to tell you about clouds and radars.
BTW it was your uniformed cousins monitoring so called Chinese satellites and discovered Yetti... You can't be any different to them.

Everywhere in the world countries display and fly their locally made planes with pride and honour…..

only in India either they carry them on flat beds or refuse to fly them at all……

birds over Delhi?!! Gotta be the dumbest fuckest excuse I have ever heard…. Fly Teja at the same height of other planes but refusing to fly it at all speaks volumes about your plane and pilots capabilities

The entire world does single engined displays including the IAF with some of its M2K displays being pretty good - it is just sheepish idiocy to suggest they won’t do it just because.

Yes - if a single engine fighter has an engine failure it is likely to go down more but in general engine failure in low level displays or flybys are dangerous for ANY aircraft. The sudden loss of altitude along with the time the single engine ramps up to provide enough thrust can sometimes not be enough. f-18s and Su-27s have gone down due to flameouts at low level.

The Mirages at Gwalior could make it to Dehli and their M53s are very reliable engines in general. Even the F-404 on the Tejas is so it is a rather sheepish safety issue but it’s their airforce and protection of Mr 56inch so what could we say

I keep my trophy with me since your lot doesn’t deserve it anyway - but if bird strikes are such a major concern then perhaps smack in the middle of it isn’t a smart policy anyway. After all, have the bird given you guys guarantees that they will only go into one engine?

I seriously can't understand why certain posters on the forum don't take the trouble to read what they type. You are not making any sense at all. Yes the lack of pride is why the Tejas has started to participate in Air Shows, including being the biggest attraction in Aero India. Participates in global tenders -- but hey! we still refuse to fly them and parade them on flat beds. Heck it flown to Dubai and Bahrain. The trailer, The samosa jokes are getting old. Tejas irks you fan boys since there has been a natural progression in term of capability of design, development and eco systems. You don't have one project to compare it on similar terms. The announcement to buy a new Chinese Jet exposed Pakistan's lack of capabilities to evolve the JF-17 on its own -- That is the sole reason for the hate!!!

.
Pretty strange to exclude all single-engines since Tejas has shown exceptional reliability since its inception, with just 3 minor taxiing incidents that too only during its testing phase. Also the Mirage-2000s that remain reliable to this date since their upgrades.

Tejas & Mirages participated in other Republic Day ceremonies in the past.
