No Indian movie will be screened in Pakistani cinemas in Sept, Oct

LAHORE (Web Desk) – After intensified relations with India, Pakistani cinemas have been directed to not exhibit any Indian movie in September and October.

Bollywood movie MS Dhoni: The Untold Story is due to release on September 30 but because of strained relations, its display has been suspended in Pakistan.

On the other hand, the importers have decided to not take rights of small budget movies after which the screening of Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ is likely in the country.

Earlier, prominent artists and filmmakers from Pakistani film industry decided to launch protest campaign against the exhibition of Indian films.

The preliminary meeting of the artists and filmamkers was held in Pakistan film distribution association chairman Chaudhry Aijaz Kamran’s office in Royal Park.

The attendees while presenting their opinion said that while including all the people from the film industry, a strong protest will be registered.

Senior artists said that millions of revenue is shifted to India through the movies hence; the government should take notice. They pronounced that Pakistani artists should not undermine the dignity of their country in the greed of money and fame.

The meeting was attended by various renowned artists which include Mustafa Qureshi, Abid Ali and Ghulam Mohiuddin.

Before threatening to stop flow of water to Pakistan. Why dont indians stop the flow of movies to Pakistan first.

These cinema owners are playing with Pakistanis, Sept is almost over and I doubt any notable bollywood movie is about to release in Oct. There are barely 10 big bollywood movies all year long which earn in Pakistan. Next big release is probably in November.

Sultan earned 35-40 crore in Pakistan. Pakistan already is 2nd biggest market for bollywood even with less then 100 screens.

Fawad movie probably releases in November thats why Sept and OCT "ban". There is no market for small bollywood movies in Pakistan. But big blockbusters with khans do earn a lot.
