No doubt China has confidence in its HQ-9s

I mean, we can do this all day. The point remains the same. China buys advanced military hardware from Russia, not the other way around.

You guys can keep willfully denying reality to fit your premise all you want. It wont change reality. Good luck with your deal with Turkey though. That is quite an accomplishment for your MIC.

The truth is china has stop buying any major equipment from Russia. It just the Russia trying to shove the deal to China. As for major equipment, I heard Russian is goin to get their first Mistral LHD from FRANCE next year.

Talking about Russia military advance technology.....

Okay now this is just blatant trolling with no basis. Russia is going to buy mistrals for two reasons, first, its shipyards are already busy building other ships and two their ship builders are notoriously slow. Do some research instead of trolling Russian MIC, its unbecoming of your great country and anyone pretending to represent them.

Clearly you are the one coming with biased view. Russian lack the technology to build Mistral. Their most powerful ship yard has left them in Ukraine. What a pile of excuse saying Russia is slow or too busy. Why not you say its French who come begging Russian to buy their Mistral and Russia are just too modest and generous to suit your agenda?

Okay kiddos. You guys keep living in that parallel reality where Chinese military harware is anywhere near as good as Russian hardware. Everyone knows that its the chinese pushing for the deal. The Russians dont want to go through with it because they know the chinese will only make a cheaper second tier copy. Thats the truth. Good luck on the new contract though. It sounds like you really need it.

Chinese do not want the plane. But they sure do want to get their hands on the engine. That is why that want to buy only so many units to study the engine. And maybe to get some spares so they can put it in the J-20 for test study.

We don't want the engine either, since WS-15 is 5th gen, while 117S is only 4.5th gen, it is technologically not compatible. :coffee:

But WS-15 is still not ready. While 117S is already available. I'm certain that China would buy the whole plane just to get its hands on an engine. That is how China buy things. China even buy Sovremenny destroyers from Russia just so it has the SS-N-22 missile.

Already passing the ground test, soon to be put on J-20 #2005 or #2006.

Sovremenny is now close to scrap, since PLAN really hates those outdated ships.

When will WS15 be put on #2005 and #2006? Is there a #2003 and #2004 yet?

Sovremenny is better than the oldest Chinese ships in service though.

Probably circa 2014-2015, no later than 2015, since it is planned to be largely commissioned by 2018.

Since China had spent a lot of time on WS-10, because it was a bottleneck for China's engine technology.

Now China has overcame that bottleneck, the rest will be really easy and fast.

WS-15 won't need as much time as WS-10.

So how many J-20 are there?

The maturization of the engine took process and time, even the WS-10 series right now might not be 100% mature, but it is already on the right track.

In the 1990s, USA also had a lot of problems with their F110 engine, it wasn't 100% mature until the early 2000s.

After the complete maturization of F110, it just took them few years to come out with the next gen F119 engine.

That is what a lot of people like to not think about.

They are making it look like others like the US and Russia never had any problems making perfect turbofan engines and only China is having issues with the WS-10A.

The fact is that without the supply of Russian engines, then all J-10s would now be powered by WS-10A. It would not be perfect but would be no worse than the early 1980s powered F-16s that the US fielded. China chooses to not field WS-10A on the J-10A for various reasons and not because the WS-10A is not capable of powering it.

You are absolutely right that now China is mass-producing the WS-10A, the WS-15 should be much easier to field.
