No Bangladeshi university could even make to the list of 1000 in the world university rankings

No higher education institution in Bangladesh has been included in the list of 1000 universities of the world in the ranking of Times Higher Education, a UK-based research journal.

In this ranking of more than 1500 universities from 93 countries of the world, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Dhaka University are in the next list of 1000 from Bangladesh. There is no other university in the country in the top 1500. Last Wednesday, the magazine published 'The World University Rankings 2021' on their website. Oxford University is ranked at the top of more than 1,500 universities in terms of quality of education, international outlook, research and assessment of knowledge transfer.
In 2016, the position of Dhaka University in this ranking was between 701 to 800. In 2016, it went back to 1000. Then in 2019 and 2020, no university in Bangladesh could enter the list.

Oxford University in the United Kingdom, which has been at number one for the last 4 years, is still at the top of the list. The top five are Stamford University in the United States, Harvard University, the California Institute of Technology and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.The United States universities are at the top of this list of Time Higher Education. Six of the top 10 universities and the other two are from the UK.

This ranking has been done in five indices in total. These are Teaching, Research, Site, Industry Income and International Outlook. Of these, Dhaka University is in the worst position in the research index. Out of the total 100 points in the study, Dhaka University got only 7.6.
In this context, Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Md. "I don't think it's possible to change global parameters overnight," Akhtaruzzaman said. However, we have already taken several steps to take the research sector forward.

The UK-based Times Higher Education (THE) has released the World University Rankings 2021 on Wednesday. India has just two universities among the world's top 400 universities as per the survey.
As per the report by the NDTV, seven of the top Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) had boycotted the survey owing to their reservations over the parameters and transparency in the ranking process.
In the overall category, University of Oxford, United Kingdom, has topped the tally. Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, made it to the 301-350 category in overall global rankings.
Among Indian institutions, the IISc in Bengaluru and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Ropar, are the two in the world's top 400.

IISC has made it to the 301-350 category in overall global rankings and IIT Ropar is in the 351-400 groupings.
THE World University Rankings 2021 considers five parameters for assessing universities: Teaching (30%), Research (30%), Citations (30%), Industry Income (2.5%) and International Outlook (7.5%). Globally, over 1,500 universities from 93 countries were ranked on the list.

Its not only that....."Joy bangla education system" had successfully created intellectually crippled and half literate generations in "Bangladesh". System, institution, teacher, students and values all are destroyed to the ground.

1. Students were tortured, killed and even evicted from university because they did not toe ruling party mantra.
2. University VCs were appointed based on ruling party locality
3. University VCs and teachers are doing wholesale looting in close coordination with awami league student wing (Jahangirnagar VC is perfect example).
4. Plagiarized work was accepted and given approval by university.
5. Teacher was appointed because of indian embassy and ISKON influence
6. in last 14 years people with ruling party affiliation BUT NO qualification to become teacher were appointed
7. Overall, there is NO policy, plan or budget for systematic research and publication.
8. UGC is a rubber stamp and money making concern
9. overall education system in last 14 years created question leak generations with zero quality.
