No apology for violating Pakistan air space

United States "makes no apologies" for making unilateral military strikes against al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan, the White House confirmed late Tuesday.

"We make no apologies about that," White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said when asked that US should not have gone unilaterally inside Pakistan to get Bin Laden.

"He was enemy number one for this country and killed many many innocent civilians. And no apologies," Carney said.

On Monday, Pakistan termed the US commando operation in Abbottabad that killed Bin Laden an "unauthorised, unilateral action" without its knowledge.

The White House said America has never been at war with Islam. "This has never been a war against Islam. President (George W) Bush said that; President (Barack) Obama has said that. Osama Bin Laden was not a Muslim leader; he was a mass murderer of Muslims, as well as people of other faiths," Carney noted.

"It has been our cooperation with Muslims in Pakistan and other countries, as well as Muslim Americans, which has helped in our overall effort to fight al-Qaeda and protect Americans, to protect this country," he said, adding that taking action against Bin Laden does not mean that one shouldn't be entirely respectful of Islam, which the US is.

"It doesn't change the fact, the President's very strongly held conviction and expressed conviction, that this has never been about Islam, because, in fact, Osama Bin Laden was a mass murderer who killed many Muslims," he said.

Carney said Bin Laden was a relic of the past, in many ways.

"The kind of yearning for individual freedoms that we've seen... protest on the streets of the Arab world in these past few months represent a movement that is in the polar opposite direction that Osama Bin Laden and al-Qaeda wanted to take the Arab world," he said.

"I think that that's an important point to make and to observe because he's in many ways, the symbol of everything that those folks who have been demonstrating on the ground for their voices, for their rights, for their individual aspirations, he's a representation of everything they don't want," he said.

May be your radars too have kill switch.

PS. a new conspiracy theory.:D

Let us give credit to US where it is due. They ducked all the radars and more importantly knew where they were located. It goes to show that the PAF and PA claims of being ready for cold start (if there is such a thing) is hallow.

The reaction time of PA and PAF is really slow as 40 mins to 60 mins is a long time in terms of a military / surgical strike.

About apology, we are getting into dangerous waters now. US will be charged and with incriminating evidence / circumstantial evidence to suggest Pakistan knew where Osama was.
:usflag:

What apology, CIA said that if they knew they would have tipped him. RD case was ISI's turn CIA is paying back in kind. They will bring ISI's credibility to mat.

I think if the Growlers jamming the radars was true - the MoD must include the SH too in the MRCA downselect if the US is willing to sweeten the pot with a squadron of Growlers. :D

GHQ must be concerned at the possibility that detailed information about radar vulnerabilities can be shared with India if needed.

Apologize for what? They just killed the most wanted terrorist.

growlers cannot jam the radars....atleast not from the afghan border to abbotabad...

no apology needed because the US adn ISI knew about this operation in a limited way.....adn most of our defence systems are pointed towards your flying bisons.....so there is no chance that we will let india do anything like this.....pakistan cannot afford to down a US heli....but it can damn afford to down a bharti heli!!!....lets see if you can control the US sentiments....if india comes we are ready.the US is just a class above the rest

It is hard times for Pakistan right now. It's under heavy spotlight and the entire nation is being negatively talked about.

Knowing the US, they will not be issuing any apologies - just like with the CIA agent issue a little while ago.

As the world police and only super power, they will never admit to the world for any wrong doing. Instead, everything they do can be justified.

Sadly, Pakistan will have to bite the bullet on this one and refrain pressing the U.S. for an apology. It would only make the situation worse and give them more reason to bash the Pakistani inteligence and government - casting more negative light on the nation.

Whatever the case maybe, we Chinese will remain loyal and true to our Pakistani friends. We will continue to support and back you up through tough times.

Many people think we Chinese are crazies for supporting Pakistan, but for us, friendship isn't something to be questioned. We love and will accept Pakistan for who you are. Our friendship is time tested and we won't let anything get inbetween us.

People must learn to differentiate between terrorists, government actions and its ordinary citizens. I feel many haters are allowing themselves to be shrouded by political hatred and chose to hate the nation as a whole. This type of mentality is wrong. You can clearly see and judge by yourself.

PDF encountered numerous denial of service attacks since the news of OBL death broke out, flooded by a constant stream of anti-Pakistani threads, followed by verbal abuse from certain individuals. This kind of attitude isn't welcomed and it is a backward mentality coming from many.
