What's new

Niqab becoming a flash point in Canada

frikin quebecers..there the biggest racist peace of ***** ever to embrace they land..they try wayyy too hard to please their french masters and still they scuk at it

did i mention they're hockey team scuks too

no need for all that, dude

I agree that hiding face is never required in islamis scriptures(Quran/Hadees), BUT it's NOT ancient Arabic phenomenon rather it's the opposite... i.e, from what i herd, face-covering(Nikab) & burka were introduced later on...

Quran asks women to "wrap" وَلۡيَضۡرِبۡنَ بِخُمُرِهِنَّ their trunks with an outer covering "Chaadar"چادر & stretch a part of it over themselves(over their heads)يُدۡنِينَ عَلَيۡہِنَّ مِن جَلَـٰبِيبِهِنَّۚ . (Quran:24:31 & 33:59)

According to hadees too, ladies r NOT required to cover face & hands...
Abu Dawood:27::4092:- Asma, daughter of Abu Bakr, entered upon the Apostle of Allah (pbuh) wearing thin clothes. The Apostle of Allah (pbuh) turned his attention from her. He said: O Asma', when a woman reaches the age of menstruation, it does not suit her that she displays her parts of body except this and this, and he pointed to her face and hands.

I have a question ! as per Islam Mohammed was the last prophet, right ?? so after him there are no more prophets, right ?? so then , if we were to take any quotes seriously , you would only accept the word of your prophet, and whaterver anybody else would say after that , is only a matter of opionon , right ??? please enlighten

Your quote confuses me. Why only one eye, when Allah has given you two eyes to see, why didnt Allah drape the woman from her mothers womb ? Maybe , there is something wrong with the way Allah sees his creations ??? Honestly, the hijab just caters to the perversity of man, thats all. So lets just be just, and all wear hijabs, or niquabs or whaterver,

You Indians should be example first (charity begins at home first), tell you 160 million Muslims first not the wear these things and then tell others in west.

One thing i have noticed in this thread is the interference of non Muslims in our religious matters they ask us to justify our Religion.

And It's very bad of Muslims trying to justify to those People who are neither interested in knowing the truth but have already developed their narrow minded opinion about Islam that is not going to change whatever argument is given.

So i request to all Non Muslims stop Interfering in our Religious matters. We never interfere in Religious matters of Christians,Jews or Hindus and we should expect same from them.

Incorrect! Female Abortions in India are the highest in the world, also women abuse in India is the highest! You Hindus should worry about your own intolerance, before pointing a broken finger at us, you hypocrite!

The Niqab is not so that a man can grab or take a woman. That is not the reason why women wear it! Your entire post is ridiculous and false!

Sorry, but we Muslims are a civilized and progressive people! We value female modesty, and the Niqab is a symbol of female modesty and submission to the Almighty!

The Niqab is an Islamic tradition, and it frees women and gives them rights!

It is an act of enlightenment, which moves people away from the Jahilliyah (ignorance) of your kind of societies!

Islam is the most tolerant religion, and unlike Hinduism, which is based off of women abuse, sati, the caste system, violence, intolerence, and persecution. Islam will always be a religion of love, peace, tolerance, and progression!

I think you are a super hypocrite, because if you respected a womans modesty, you wouldnt make her wear the hijab or whatever, the rule for women was made by man, I dont hear any womens point of view in this forum , except for one who keeps applauding , but not speaking

They do wear Scarf so get your facts straight.

* Rest of your post is Based on lack of knowledge and personal conclusions which does not Matter in this particular case.

Regards:

Excuse me freind, read my post, I never said they dont wear scarves, I was pointing out to women who wear scarves and sexy outfits, you picture doesnt prove a thing. I have been so exposed to Islam that you wont understand. My post doesnt lack understanding, but it challenges you to accept a fact. All faiths expect their citizens to be modest, but not all relgions enforce this. I could post multiple pictures of what i state, which you consider a matter of opinion. But that would be insulting which is not my intentions. My intention here is to get to a better understanding of why, and of the posts that i have been reading, most men seem to have taken the moderate route, which is very heartening

Not a single woman in my family wears Niqab or Hijab. They only wear dubatta at a religious event or time. And they don't have a problem with anyone who does wear it.

In Pakistan, 1 out of 7 [i think it was 7] girls in my class wore a Hijab. Sup with that?

Just putting that out there.

If some girl wanna live by her religion, she shall live by her religion. She isn't compelled to cover herself head to toe though, unless she REALLY wants to

unfortunately, societal pressures --especially in rural areas -- cause them to wear it; not personal will

and quite frankly, nowhere in the Quran does it say they must cover themselves that way. But maybe I am ignorant and somebody can show me the verse where it says it is compulsory to adorn oneself in this way.

I am not a left-leaning person; but i do believe that it is the MEN who should receive more attention....not the women

and honestly, in the end, religion is a private matter. It doesn't need to be displayed outwardly and be worn on the sleeve! I am against the burqa and niqab, and always have been. Some people aren't.

It's about choice.

In Qur'an Allah swt clearly says:

Surah Al-Ahzaab, Verse #59
‘O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks ("Jalabib") veils all over their bodies (screen themselves completely except the eyes or one eye to see the way Tafseer Al-Qurtabi) that is most convenient that they should be known (as such) and not molested: and Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful."

Surah An-Nur, Verses #30 and #31
‘And Say to the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts) and not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent (like both eyes for necessity to see the way, or outer palms of hands or one eye or dress like veil, gloves, head cover, apron), and to draw their veils all over Juyubihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms)

In Hadiths;

Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 6, Book 60, Hadith # 282
Narrated Safiya bint Shaiba (Radhiallaahu Ánha) "Aisha (Radhiallaahu Ánha) used to say: "When (the Verse): "They should draw their veils over their necks and bosoms," was revealed, (the ladies) cut their waist sheets at the edges and covered their faces with the cut pieces.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 1, Book 8, Hadith # 368
Narrated 'Aisha (Radhiallaahu Ánha) Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Álayhi Wasallam) used to offer the Fajr prayer and some believing women covered with their veiling sheets used to attend the Fajr prayer with him and then they would return to their homes unrecognized.

Abu Dawood Book 14, Hadith # 2482
Narrated Thabit ibn Qays (Radhiallaahu Ánhu): A woman called Umm Khallad came to the Prophet (Sallallaahu Álayhi Wasallam) while she was veiled. She was searching for her son who had been killed (in the battle) Some of the Companions of the Prophet (Sallallaahu Álayhi Wasallam) said to her: You have come here asking for your son while veiling your face? She said: If I am afflicted with the loss of my son, I shall not suffer the loss of my modesty. Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Álayhi Wasallam) said: You will get the reward of two martyrs for your son. She asked: Why is that so, oh Prophet of Allah? He replied: Because the people of the Book have killed him.

and there are many more Haidths about covering the whole of face except eyes.

and for your word "ninja"... I am personally offended. One should not be making fun of Islamic practices with such blatant ignorance.

and for the thread:
People living in Europe, Canada, America etc. shouldn't brag about the ban on Niqab. It's their country and they have the right to make/force laws upon their people. If they love the values of Islam that much, they should migrate to an Islamic country and start living their lives there.

i truly appreciate the way you explained. for this JAZAKALLAH my friend.
i have been here in saudia from 21 years.and i know better about womens feelings regarding hijab. Alhumdulillah i am doing hijab for 10 years .... and no body forced me to do so.
one more thing is that .. if there is any girl here having a problem with hijab or she forced to do, so let her come and discuss.

have nice day !!!
R G.:)

Please write some more and enlighten us, I would really like to know your point of view, and if you could share the point of view of those who disagree, this is very educative

In my college I was walking with my Sikh friend and a Arabic girl with hijab passes us with skin tight jeans on and he asked me what the use of hijab when she is so mod and I had no answer to it so I said who cares its her life.

You are not kidding. I have also encunter such vulgar sceneries my self though I will not only include arab. It's has diversity among all muslims from all back ground.

Some muslim girls does it for cultural show rather than fear from of Allah. In such case, this hijab means nothing to Allah becasue Allah has order women to cover their body. As a matter of fact, Islam would probably prefer muslim women who dress in such way that cover their sensetive body part without hijab instead those with body tight clothes with hijab(scraf on the head). Body tight cloths dissolve the whole purpoe of Hijab.

Hijab must be practice as a form of ibadah to please Allah rather than some cultural show really.

Well here is your chance to make people ignorant of muslim traditions , add some good stories of examples of why this tradition came to be, that would be great.

I know that in the tradition of the Jews they had the same rules, how diff is it from the rules of Islam

Muslim women in India

BBC NEWS | South Asia | India Muslim divorce code set out

Why should we, it is their choice and it is respected in India, nobody in India will dare to force muslim women not to follow thier traditions. And I think you are way off topic, you just cant resist making this an India topic can you. Islam and its traditions are more exposed to the world today than ever before, there could be a lot of misunderstandings, but that gives you the opportunity to explain. You tell me how many of the Islamic countries have gone and done an exhaustive documentary on the traditions of Islam, and provide valuable proofs. Get moving on yourselves first and in the long run you will find results
