but Chinese drones aren't as good as U.S drones especially for finding small boats in the Niger Delta

MQ-1B Big Wing Predator is what is needed to track and follow them back to their hide out

then send in the JF-17 to strike them

U.S equipment comes with too many strings and hassle, it might not be worth the extra headache dealing with the yanks

Pak itself is not using JFT for Ground operations, what you can expect against Boko ?

Intial requirements were to get JF 17 air and sea attack ready

Block 3 should come with a ground attack pod

JF 17 will then go from strength to strength , Nigeria and Myanmar will just be the start

They were used in South Waziristan but mostly we used F16,s and Mirage V/III

The JF17 was deployed for the very first time in South Waziristan

The same that you will if you venture into Pak airspace.
NAF will have evalùated the JFT and found it fit for their needs. Now a know it all from across the border wantsto tell them what they need. LOL.

Hi,

How quickly people forget-----. Even though that were the requirements from the desing stage and that is what the promise was---.

The original BLK 1's came in as ground strike aircraft to all our utter amazement---.

Someone just dig out the old threads and read.

Nigeria waiting for US to approve Super Tucano sale
Jeremy Binnie, London - IHS Jane's Defence Weekly
07 June 2016

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is hoping to replace its Dassault-Dornier Alpha Jets with Embraer EMB 314/A-29 Super Tucano turboprops, NAF spokesman Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa said on 6 June.

The NAF released this photo of the Alpha Jet NAF475 in February when it announced that the two aircraft that arrived from the US in 2015 had been remilitarised. It announced in March that the same aircraft had veered into a ditch when landing at Yola. (Nigerian Air Force)

The revelation came in a statement announcing that the apron at Yola Air Base was being expanded in preparation for the arrival of new platforms that have been ordered for the NAF, which include Mil Mi-35M helicopters, CAC/PAC JF-17 Thunder fighters, and PAC Super Mushshak trainers.

"There are also strong indications that the US government may give the nod sooner than expected with regards to the sale of Super Tucano to the NAF to replace the ageing Alpha Jets," the statement said.

GREAT NEWS

what strings??

at most we wouldn't allow them to be armed which isn't that big of a deal.

Too pricey the Nigerians are looking to create a budget army to them any MALE Drones would do the task. Nigeria have no splurging money thanks to the oil crisis so they have to economize on a lot of thing. The decision to buy JF was one of it.
