Nigeria prepares for the arrival of JF-17s & Mushaks

Too pricey the Nigerians are looking to create a budget army to them any MALE Drones would do the task. Nigeria have no splurging money thanks to the oil crisis so they have to economize on a lot of thing. The decision to buy JF was one of it.

not too pricey when you consider you have bandits stealing millions of barrels of oil a year, and now you got these so called Niger Delta Avengers and Ultimate Warriors blowing up pipelines and what not

that's dropping Nigeria oil exports by 600,000 barrels a day that's $30,000,000 dollars a day of lost revenue.

ISAR is what is needed and the Predator XP or Big Wing provides that.

This is Nigeria we're talking about. The civilian government are cautious about giving the military more power. The weapons they bought can be used against them.

So a decision to create a budget army are not only feasible, but realistic. Also its still possible to guard the delta with a combination of less sophisticated drones patrolling the rivers and fast boats to respond.

After first sale of JF 17, now many other ways are going to open for JF17.

drones are budget friendly. they are cheaper to buy, fly, and maintain than a military fighter jet.

my point is Nigeria needs a dedicated ISAR platform which is what drones are perfect for (Predator) , and they should also buy JF-17 in large numbers as well.

they simply can't let the robbery and disruption of oil in the Niger Delta to continue. that hurts all of Nigeria.

Not saying Drones are expensive, but the Nigerian have yet shown interest to a predator drone. Although they are considering buying Russian or Chinese drones.

like I said in my first post Chinese drones less advance than ours and Russia drones even more so, but they should buy any drone they want.

it's a pressing need in my opinion.

.
Nigeria needs drones for 24 hour surveillance of the Niger Delta.

Niger Delta freedom fighters are disrupting oil production by almost 600,000 barrels

Yes ... and since Nigeria operates already the CH-3 they will most likely opt for this longer-range, longer endurance requirement to the larger CH-4 or Wing Loong (similar to Kazakhstan).

@beegeagledblog, the JF-17 Thunder Bulk 2 that is acquired for the #NAF will come with open-architecture

@Oscar @MastanKhan @HRK

What does he mean by open-architecture. ??

open-architecture is a type of computer architecture or software architecture that is designed to make adding, upgrading and swapping components easy

So maybe it's related to Computer System (Electronic or Avionic) of JF-17... Well Block II has been upgraded with Better systems Specially No. 229 which came from China so maybe they are referring to that

Systems of different vendors can be integrated and C++ based Operating system of JF-17 can be modified as per Nigerian wishes. Take a rough example of Windows OS and Linux OS. You can-not modify WIndows Operating system and add different vendor functionality into it no matter how much you beg Microsoft. They will do it as per their own wishes . While on the other hand, you can create or make as many functions into Linux as you can and modify upto such extent that you can claim you have made your own Operating system

And you are wrong about Block-II coming with open architecture. The functionality was embedded from the get go or it was theorized to be present from the 07-101. Now it is another matter that it took them many years to perfect that open architecture and remove all the kinks in their customized OS of JF-17 that now starting from Blk-II they can integrate weapons of any vendor with JF.

Ummm , no incorrect.

Think about Windows Vs MAC OS, now try to fit your open architecture in this.
