Irfan, Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal (RA) has been considered as the forefather of the Salafi movement. Basically the idea behind the movement was that the Muslims must consult back and adopt the ways of the 'salaf' (Sahabah), and 'bidaat' that have entered in Islam with time must be purged. Imam Ibne Taimya and Iman Ibn e Qayyim belonged to the same school of thought and advocated to follow the ways of the salaf. As a child I was made to learn both Arabic and Persian. This is no longer the case in Pakistan. Only if it had continued, a lots of problems would have been solved. A person who understand the meaning of 'salaf', would understand quickly what the movement was all about. Teachings of Muhammed (PBUH), and following the ijtihaad of salaf was what the movement was all about.

I have and article is wrong in many parts. Islamic States responsibility is to announce Jihad if they fail than militants will take place. Now as for non Muslim majority oppressing Muslims and attack Islam yes they would be warned first but on their refusal war will be declared.

Please quote a verse from the Quran that says militancy will take place if a state doesn't announce Jihad. A Sahih Hadith would also work.

That ayah is addressed to the Prophet (s.a.w). Unless someone over here thinks they are the Prophet (nauzubillah), it is not relevant to the discussion.

We can't deny the Quran's verses, but we can read them properly and in context. That verse is specific to the Holy Prophet (s.a.w) and his time period. The verse is addressed to the Prophet (s.a.w), not the believers in general like many other verses are. Like I said, unless someone here considers themselves to be the Prophet, that verse does not apply to us.

A Muslim ruler is the shield [of his people]. A war can only be waged under him and people should seek his shelter [in war]. (Bukhari: No. 2957)

If we need a ruler, by extension we need a state for the ruler to rule. This principle is also supported by the fact that the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) did not begin an armed struggle against the Kuffar until he had established a state in Madinah.

Your own house is not in order, your clergy is composed of, in the words of Quran 'asfal al safileen', and you are talking about waging Jihad. Bhai saheb, first put your house in order and not through violence but through preaching and it will only happen once the so-called preachers fix themselves and preach through example not hollow words. Charity begins at home, fix yourself, than your immediate family members, than relatives, than neighbors, and so forth.

Well, it is because of the ignorance of people like you who claim to know Islam but in reality clueless about Islam and its history and the seerat of Mohammed (PBUH). This is historically true. Muslim empires have flourished all round only when they were expanding - with one military conquest after another against neighboring non Muslim empires.
