It sounds good but when it comes to "Islamic" in Pakistan, you really don't know what you're going to get.

What we need is an intelligent Islamic officer that is able to analyse the current geo-political environment and take the right steps according to the situation for Pakistan, even if at first sacrifices need to be made or even if we aren't 100% following Islam to the T.

There's a chance that you could get a completely batshit insane type of officer that turns Pakistan into an international pariah state by cutting off relations, refuses to make some decisions due to his Islamic beliefs, etc, etc. We still need to have global relations but just in an intelligent and productive manner to pursue our goals. When you come from a position of weakness you sometimes need to compromise in certain areas to get to where you want to be for the end-goal.

There needs to be an outlined goal for what we envision Pakistan to be, how our society should collectively be, and what our foreign strategic goals are. Then work towards it in the most ideal manner.

InshAllah sane and productive voices prevail in the near future...

steady and consistent changes through laws and continued democracy over time in a decade and a half like in Indonesia, Turkey and a dozen other countries wita h a much worse relationship with their military than us

But this can only happen when public is 100% behind ending the role of military forever
