New York subway so crappy, worse than the ones in third tier Chinese cities'

London is the oldest theirs open in 1863, Paris opened in 1900 I think it can be expanded and upgraded but the problem is lack of political will and the post WW2 surburban boom led to more focus on highways and automobile especially in NY metro area Robert Moses the chief civil engineer in post ww2 NY was the highway man he led the death of the NYC Subway expansion led to the terrible mismanagement of the 70s and 80s things are much better now no graffiti and less crime but load is the problem

No one likes rats I agree NYC Subway needs massive upgrades but their lack of will to improve just pet projects like 2nd Ave Subway and Fulton Center were a waste of money what needs to happen is upgrade the signals first so we can get trains moving faster the L has CBTC signaling and 7 is already complete now

Those people are hardcore about it.

I play squash and have a court in my building, but assuming handball is tougher

Are you here for studies or work mostly,yeah I play handball for fun couple of my friends have taken it seriously as competitive sport I do play Tennis once in a while

Hands down the best city in the world.

The city gives credence to the saying, “don’t judge a book by its cover”
What may look crappy outside, old warehouses, commercial spaces (eg. meat packing district), and old brown stones have history and with the amazing renovations/amenities inside like you wouldn’t believe.
In fact the old dilapidated look is what gives the city its charm. There is a culture and diversity to the city that cannot be replicated.

No doubt the road Infra and public transport needs an upgrade, but it’s not easy given the number of people these modes support on a daily basis. Can’t just outright close lines without making alternate arrangements. Perfect example is the L line going into Williamsburg.

There is a reason why people from all over America and the world want to live here in droves.
In comparison, most of America is cookie cutter and very bland.
Texas being the blandest of them all minus Austin.

I did my undergrad at Michigan, then moved to New York, worked for a few years, did my mba at Columbia and then joined the family business.
So I would have to go with work..
