new pakistan military helicopters?

The problem with the WZ-10 is that it's still under development phase, the designs are still changing and a proper engine is still a problem. I think it'll take another year or so before they finally decide on a final design and a pre-serial production prototype will be delivered.

It seems quite good, also we have a good relationship with south africa.

Another possibilty would be the italian mangusta, would also be ideal as turkey will have full manufacturing rites, tot and a production line.

i agree ,future is in Pakistani 's own hand,having your own military industry is the best interest for Pakistan if it comes to war,cus i don't think "that country" will ever give up his ambition ,Pakistan won't be alone,Chinese always surpport your decision.long live

but this is fect that if pakistan starsts a new gunship helicopter project now,i wont b able to make that in service before ten or 15 years.and i dont think that cobra is able to provide good service for next ten years.

Wz 10 carry Canadian engine, forget it. Canadian provide these engine for civil purpose and later China fitted in attack helicopter.Canadian stop the delivery.It will take time for Chinese to bring in full production. Russian Ka series is still under test and Russian army itself order only 13 or 15. No news about production line. Tiger is too expensive. Only one way Muse way. Make your own, its best time when everyone wants to help Pakistan during war against terror. Its time to bring more technology home.

i think russian helis r good and i think they will b fully in service after 5 or 10 years(acc to some defence websites).and i also heard that Israeal is intrusted in getting KA50/52.i think they will become the most advance helis in world soon.

Hmmm.....Danger-zone I fully agree with you that we need a new attack helicopter, but yoour first suggestion of the Osprey as a transport helicopter is a bit far fetched. Its too damn expensive and is probably as complex to fly.


@Muslim 282, the Roovilaks engines are upgraded in South Africa but are actually made by Turbomeca, which by the name of it I'm guessing is Italian, so there may be the same problem as the WZ 10 as the EU may pressure Italy to stop the supply. :/
You may wan;t to check up on that though, my source is a few years old, so there may be some hope after all!!!!

i wonder why israeal is crazy for ka52/50(acc to some defence news).we should go for these they r not much costy and wz-10 is good choice too.

super cobra is not a new technology we can easily get them where as AH64 is a 45mil$ baby, we can only think of it in our dreams. turkey and Taiwan Uses AH1W so we can get some from them in future.
as far as russian choppers are concerned, we have a failed foreign policy from years thats why our relations with russia are not good enough
KA52 have less Armour as compared to Mi28 but it is much maneuverable then any gunship. but I think that mil mi28 is much mature and suitable platform for PA

@Danger-Zone, yeah man I wish we had a few Ospreys, its an incredible piece of kit.

@ Owais: I thought Kamov went with a single seat design for the sake of more armour and weopons, but if the Mil 28 still has more armor than man that things a worthy successor to the legendary Mil 24 Hind. WHat I am sure of is that due to its more conventional design it would be cheaper to run and maintain, which is something we definitely need. It could also be easier to produce spare parts in Pakistan for the Mil also.

Guys why these proposals we cannot afford just yet -- but we can afford technology on sub systems -- canons, avionics, specialized systems for SAR missions - rotor assembly -- Rome was not built in a day - expertise in a even a couple of sub-systems will put us ahead, it will give genuine institutional expertise.
