New airport tax by "experienced" team
I am not sure the way they implement this is fine or not, but i definitely support tax on Business/First class tickets. i mean, a common man doesn't travel in them so that shouldn't affect him. Introduce a Withholding Tax on the ticket bookings. If you provide your tax number and details at the booking or airport, you can get your tax back. Simple.
We need to force all these haramkhor and chor businessmen into paying.
This tax isn't for only First/Business class, it applies to economy as well.
Secondly, not everyone flying business or first is a Haramkhor or chor businessman.
Majority of the people flying First class (I've heard figures in the region of 65%) are on company tickets, industry discounts, or for travel sponsored by someone else. E.g me going for my annual holdiay or some company business.
Very few pay for such tickets from their own pocket.
I know, but what i mean is, they should clean up the system. Apply a minimum tax on economy tickets, since that is the most sold class, so you can apply a little tax but get large revenue.
About Business and First class, make it Withholding type. So if you are a registered taxpayer.....you will get the refund back at the end of the year. Streamline the refund process and i am more than happy to pay that tax.
Those who are not registered taxpayers and are travelling in Business/economy, then how is government supposed to tax their wealth?
Four economy tickets for my family, tax per head PKR7,679.37. Total: PKR30,717.48
And where is this money going? By the look of the airport, definitely not in it!!
Daylight robbery my friends.
Pakistan Operating Manual (Unofficial Version 4.75b): Rule 482.056: In case of any financial crunch, twist the overseas Pakistanis even more, and when it cannot be done anymore, find another indirect way to suck them dry.
What does Visa have to do with tax on your ticket?OverSeas Pakistani Operating Manual:
.l.. -.- ..l.
The only Pakistanis that still visit Pakistan are those who were born there, the average child of that Pakistani immigrant isn't going to visit Pakistan.
Why would he/she? They most probably have a US/European Passport and can travel anywhere in the world without a visa.
