"Never Trust What People in Indian Business Say": Bloomberg

So you judge Modi's success by how many toilets he added to India , that must be a new metric created just for incredible India. So 600 million need toilets and Modi supplied 100 million that still leaves a deficit of 500 Million, so it's not a good show of success is it? Even with savings of 164Million by killing off the kids still leaves a huge deficit. So before you insult others you need to check your ignoramus rating and focus on facts than insults.

600 million need toilets. He built 100 million toilets. Is every single person supposed to have their own toilet? Members of a family(4-5) on average will use a single toilet, so it's pretty close to the required figure. Nonetheless, yes, it's not a complete success, about half these toilets lack 24/7 water supply.

I'm not saying it was intentional, but China is at fault. This is the 5th virus coming out of there and they pretend it's no big deal. Even now, their wet markets have re-opened, setting the timer for the next pandemic and their government and citizens are busy asking us to be thankful because they are SELLING us masks and ventilators. Well **** them, they can shove their ventilator pipes up theirs. We wouldn't need these had they not eaten bats and pangolins in order to get RAW SEXUAL POWER. Yes, you read that right. Chinese eat these exotic animals because they think it gives them RAW SEXUAL POWER. Not making it up, it is a fact. They think it can also cure erectile dysfunction.
pandemic can occur any time and anywhere in the world, this included India also and i admit Chinese have bad eating habits, so does lots of Indians have similar type BAD EATING habits, and can you accept free goods in crises and your govt buying equipment from your local MED companies to fight corona virus, so whats wrong with China if they selling equipment for fight corona virus, there is nothing free in this world if you have buying power you can buy anything, BE NEUTRAL DUDE

Look, I hate to be boring so I simplify my opinion a bit bluntly, so forgive me if I come across as a simple thinker.

Anyway, you know what my wish is? India and Pakistan, together with their other neighbours should form a trade block and do trade and help each other build an economic union that Africa and the Middle hook into. I'd love to see all the silly differences that hinder any chance for development to be put aside. All the squabbling over borders and territory has done nothing but kept the whole South Asia in a stranglehold. You're entirely in you're right to disagree with me.

I think you could be right but NATO's movements, preparations seem to suggest that WW3 is on the verge. I hope I'm so wrong.
I don't think US will go for WWIII, that would be the end of humanity. We are not Iraq or Afghanistan. I believe they will ttry to default on their debt and reset their economy

Actually the crisis shows which country is dirt filthy and a danger to human existence. Filthy wet markets all around selling everything from deer penis to Pangolin balls, that's what i call a failed state.

You have a caste eating corpse and rats and dung. You call us filthy? Have you even been to an Indian Market? Lol

So Modi's solution is to kill off more kids to fix the issue?

Will the US walk out on the debt owed to China?

Yes. I do judge his success by the number of toilets he has built, the number of poor people he got into the banking system, the number of villages that now have electricity and the increased health of people.

I apologise. I had an inkling that I wasn't talking with the sharpest tool in the shed, but I was not clear that tool was completely blunt. If there is a deficit of 600m toilets and a Government is able to build 100m toilets in 5 years, compared to the previous governments have not been able to achieve the same number in 25 years(this is not hyperbole, actual figures), then yes, I will judge it as a metric of success.

What does that even mean?

You will find me a strong supporter of privatization. In fact, I largely blame misdirected socialist policies and its resultant biggest symbol - the PSUs - for being a drain on India's economy. It is high time India gets rid of them. Indian Government manufactures everything from slippers to steel. The taxpayers foot the bill of these PSU's inefficiencies which could go towards changing the lives of those in real need - the poor and destitute.

That said, his policies have benefitted Reliance without a doubt.

The PSUs have not been a drain on the economy because they are public entities. They have been a drain on the economy because successive political regimes have used and mismanaged them for their own benefit. The BJP has been no exception.

In a way, I find the BJP rule to be further devastating for PSUs, because not only they have been mismanaged, they have been deliberately weakened to benefit a private entity.

I look at the recent case of HAL. A largely successful Indian aviation manufacturer has been bankrupted for the benefit of the Ambanis and Adanis.

I am in agreement with you that the government should get out of the business of running industries (I have some reservations with 100% privatization), but this is not the way to get out of PSUs.

There is merit in your argument. We do have the example of Chinese PSU being efficient and profitable.
However, under the Indian political system, PSU's are not efficient entities. They need a constant infusion of funds and/or bailouts which cost the taxpayers billions of dollars. I don't feel BJP has particularly damaged PSUs. I believe Congress was far worse (Airtel and Vodafone strengthened while making BSNL suffer). Either way, I strongly favour of getting rid of Air India, BSNL, MTNL, among a hundred others. There are far better avenues for tax money to be spent.

Interesting. Let's see if that happens.

Funny because I was going to link him to that lovely bit of reality but I chose not to bother.

Will the US walk out on the debt owed to China?
I was thinking the same too. US knows China can't do nothing.

My head certainly isn't buried, your is. You will read whatever you want to read. Here is the exact quote from the article
You obviously don't know how to read because of your buffoonery. The tweet was from March 2020 quoting latest figure and reminding selective reading fools like you that back in 2018 figures showed 1.5 Million deaths. Since you and some of your fellow idiots lack some sense, try looking into it from last year, but NO. That's TMI overload for your pea-sized brain.

Here:

Supreme Court to study plea for food for all - Sep 2019

Moreover, the most alarming figure revealed is that approximately 4,500 children die every day under the age of 5 years in our country resulting from hunger and malnutrition, amounting to over 3 lakh (300,000)* deaths every year owing to hunger of children alone. Additionally, it has been reported that 7,000 persons (including children) die of hunger every day :o: and over 25 lakh (2.5m) persons (including children) die of hunger annually”. -- India Legal Feb 2020

* This "journalist" clearly lacks in simple maths too, not even realising how many days are in a year

Once more, look at the report and verify it yourself:

You seem to be well read, so you would obviously know that the 100M number never resulted in 100% usage of those 100M toilets. India needs to invest in sewer systems to move further ahead in modernization.

Yes. There are 5 issues plaguing the issue of sanitation:
  1. Still more toilets need to be built
  2. misguided notions of hygiene
  3. misguided notions of religion and culture
  4. the sheer force of habit
  5. no sewer and water connections
I am seeing that (1), (2), (3), and (4) are changing slowly.

For (5) - while GoI launched Jal ministry and mission to do this, I am not very hopeful. It seems that GoI's focus for their second term has shifted from infrastructure/development to more Hindu issues. I hope that 2021 onwards, developmental issues come back to the front and center of the Government's agenda.

Issues of sanitation, health, skilling and infrastructure are critical for India.

Don't hold your breath on it. The government is just a symptom of the general malaise of society. The society wants more Muslim blood on the street, and the government is happily giving what they want.

Good talking to you.

I still remember during the tech boom day's...some ghora came to india and was making a show about booming india...he asked one tech guy what is your ambition...he said "to rule the world"...i never forget what he said...the moment i stepped into the outside world...i knew india will never achieve its potential...as its not in optimal health...i found out its suffering from acute TB....the moment i started my business i knew it is not TB but cancer...Somalia like corruption is present in india..through which unaccounted money which you dont see being accounted for is doing the rounds in formal economy...and its effects can be seen in real estate...from getting huge loans to just transporting goods...everywhere bribe comes....add to that the income tax departments is good at harassing genuine businesses...there is a saying that those who dont file their taxes sleep peacefully in the bushiness circles...and its true.

But I don't think any trade block is possible right now even between India, BD, Bhutan and Nepal, let alone one including Pakistan. The new Indian Govt. is severely protectionist. They have increased import tariffs across the board. And they have abstained from joining RCEP. This is also the reason why India is failing to conclude FTAs with country after country.

Would you care to explain why is this government "protectionist"? I find its behavior very contradictory when it comes to this topic. On odd days, they seem to be fighting every trade pact and on even days they seem more than eager to sell a certain company or industry to MNCs. I find the latter behavior to be probably because they need FDI as well.

Lol...my feeling exactly once I got to China.
