Recalling whole staff that too from a country like Pakistan and closing Embassy operations is just not that simple.

Pakistani media is playing a dangerous game here to put down the new govt, we have to be careful with story we follow. And all of these fake/manipulated stories originate from Pakistani media.

The embassy of the Netherlands resumed all consular and visa services after temporarily halting issuing visas amid reports of security concerns.

The Dutch officials on Monday announced that courier services in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad can “immediately start giving appointments to accept visa applications”, according to a statement.

“The Embassy of the Netherlands in Pakistan is open. The issuance of visa has been halted temporarily. Last week, the embassy was temporarily closed for two days because of construction work,” said another statement, issued by the embassy earlier in the day.

No, bro. Pakistan should build connections - not isolate itself.

Having few connections in this age is dangerous.

No, but sectarian divide is too much. Mullahism wins. I grudgingly accept that. At least for another 1-2 generations.

Inshallah by 1-2 generations there will be no sectarian divide between you guys and the Iranians.

Cheers, Doc

Netherlands pulls several Pakistan embassy staff over threats: FM | Pakistan

The Hague: The Netherlands said Monday it has pulled several embassy staff members from Pakistan over persistent threats, reportedly from religious groups angry over anti-Islam tweets by the far-right politician Geert Wilders.

Although the Dutch embassy in Islamabad remains open and visa requests are still being handled, "a whole number of people" have returned to the Netherlands, Foreign Minister Stef Blok said.

"Unfortunately Dutch citizens are being threatened, Dutch diplomats," Blok told a news programme on the NPO public broadcaster´s Radio 1 channel.

"That is serious enough already" for the step to be taken, said Blok, adding that he had spoken with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi about the issue.

Blok did not specify how many embassy staff were affected by the move.

Last week, the Netherlands said its ambassador Ardi Stoios-Braken has faced "threats" in Pakistan, apparently over "blasphemous depictions" by Wilders on Twitter.

Wilders in August called off a planned cartoon competition that stirred anger in Pakistan, but the MP has since posted several such images on the social network.

Pakistan's interior ministry last month wrote a secret memo on plans to "target" the Dutch ambassador by the hardline Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan party (TLP), media from both countries reported.

The TLP, founded in 2015, led protests in August calling for Pakistan to sever diplomatic relations with the Netherlands over the Wilders cartoon contest.

The TLP has denied making any threats.

Last week, the Pakistani lawyer who saved Asia Bibi, a Christian woman convicted of blasphemy, from death row fled to the Netherlands.

The Dutch gave Saif-ul-Malook a temporary stay after he fled Islamabad when violence erupted following the Pakistani Supreme Court's acquittal of Bibi on the charges.

Following Bibi's release, the TLP vowed to return to the streets if she was allowed to leave the country.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Monday his country was holding talks with Pakistan over potentially offering Bibi asylum in Canada.

Her husband has appealed in particular to Britain, Canada and the United States, claiming that Bibi´s life would be in danger as long as she lived in Pakistan.
