What's new

Nepal Parliament passed Bill putting Kalapani, Limpiyadhura & Lipu Lekh in its official map

Why not? If a far away alien country like Britain can employ Gurkhas in their army why not a neighbour like China?

Seriously, they much rather export manpower for projects they take up in other countries than employ millions of outsiders inside their country. Come back when China actually open its borders for Nepalis for employment, education, health and myriad other benefits same as its citizens. You know Nepalis can study in any public institution for free just as any Indian citizen? That is never going to happen in China. They much rather bribe few elites make entire country poor for it than take a burden for themselves.

But military is different from trade, commerce, economic, engineering, technological activities. Remember we Indians think Chinese make substandard soldiers. Therefore they would gladly accept Gurkha soldiers in their military. They may even give to Nepalis what India never gave viz. a role in air force and navy. All this is plausible till China develops robot soldiers and automates fighting in war.

Military is all but one component. Let's see if they raise gurkha regiment and provide military pensions to the Nepalis. That would be a sight. But I know for a fact China only deals with leadership and seldom cares about it's people. How many Pakistanis have China employed on it's own volition? Why do you think they would make special concessions for Nepal?

Pakistan China and Nepal should form an alliance and crush the artificial British creation illegally occupying neighboring countries territories.
Grand dream. One look of PDF by a Nepali and the Hindu hate of Pakistanis is like an open book. The Nepali Govt may be anti-India but people-2-people relations between the Hindu brothers is strong. While some may have sold their souls to China, there are many others who haven't. This will change once the people realize intent based on own goals vs real brothers.

Internal divisions and poison
Multiple foreign policy mistakes.Modi and his are a golden weapon. From Delhi burning to mass protests and incredible toxicity amongst Indians
Who knew when Modi was elected in 2014 he would cause this much damage to India
One of the was Merhum Gen Hamid Gul, former ISI chief...

So will the spineless GoP via their FO support Nepal? Or will they just sit quiet as usual?

China is in such dire need of good fighting soldiers that they may get galvanized into raising a Gurkha regiment just like the British Army. This is of course if they don't develop robots and military automation. Remember how Chinese soldiers are lean and sissy.

Yes, military and private security service are one component but what other sector does India employ them in? India too gives them jobs only in military and security services.

Not trying to insult Nepal ,but one have to be out of touch with the reality to think the Chinese are going to gladly accept people in their military that are - much smaller, less developed physically(and likely suffering from some form of malnutrition issue),and lower IQ , devoid of chinese work ethic and culture.
Indian army is filled with Nepali folk, they improve the overall Indian army, India has been accepting Nepalese citizens in Indian army for many decades, but for China it's not the case.

But Indians live in an alternate reality where,Chinese are much shorter and little than Indian( even though average chinese median height is 10 cm taller),much weaker physically( even though most Indians suffers from weak muscles, malnutritions, with excess body fat deposit), incompetent( even though china has a lead of 30 in IQ and unmatched in work ethic, efficiency, regimentation).

Indians live in its own world, anti fact and anti pragmatism runs deep, due to people being mentally unable to think rationally and along with the overbearing and out of place arrogance ;a deep mental complex .

Don't jumble every Indian in @Bagheera category. Most Indians are pragmatic enough to know not to fight China for some 60 sq km of barren land. Its also be China's loss as that would launch us into US fold. China enjoys huge trade surplus with our country and people and Industry would be understanding if GOI intends to change that. All in all, its China that will lose more in this situation.

They get employment in every sector just as any Indian. They can work anywhere in the country visa free. There are over 2 million Nepali living in India.Do you suppose everyone of them are employed in government/army? You can see them in construction, restaurants, salons, hospitality, security, household help etc. They get to enroll in any public educational institution at a nominal cost exactly same as an Indian national. This provision is only extended to Nepal and Bhutan. Every other country citizen would have to pay premium for such a seat. They are free to live in any part of the country no questions asked. They can use our public health systems for free.

It was retaliation. You conveniently overlook who started it all.

- PRTP GWD
They are the ones who first retaliated against you and won the war ultimately with the help of pakistan.
Nepal is no different.
And don't forget you too paid a heavy price. You lost Rajiv Gandhi a PM level person and all others died in bomb blasts by Tamil tigers.

Do you really think Sri lanka was able to eliminate Tamil Eelam without tacit approval from Congress (Aka Sonia Gandhi wife of slain Rajiv Gandhi). It is India that allowed Sri Lanka to do so. India couldn't directly help Sri lanka in this endeavor given our Tamilian sentiments otherwise they wouldn't even need your support for arms. Get it.

Only thing left now is for the Nepalese to start collecting taxes from these areas.
Which is the OBVIOUS next step!
I mean the map is drawn, it’s bloody official from what I can tell.

Actually India passed a resolution scrapping article 370 completely and unionizing the entire state of J&K (claimed in entirety by Pakistan).

I suppose before going any further, would you be so kind as to start by listing what concrete steps Pakistan has taken to reverse this, so India can learn and follow suit and give Nepal a befitting response, Just as Pakistan did?

I’m certain that the scrapping of article 370 (similar to the Nepalese map change) had a cataclysmic change in Pakistani claims on Kashmir
Pakistan considers Kashmir part of India now, or so I understand?

Pakistan can show us how to deal with Nepal through their own similar experience.
Since you're moving from Tibet to Kashmir as the subject matter, India STILL hasn't reclaimed the half of Kashmir that Pakistan snatched in 1947 so do enlighten me on how that squares up with your maps. It's now a matter of time before the rest falls, all thanks to hindutva no less.

Pakistan has never been your "buddy". We're here to dismember your pseudo-country and restore it to its rightful place as the sick man of the subcontinent. However, I was always taught by Indian friends that Nepal was part of hindutva's inner circle, a peaceful hindu majority nation who would work with India for millennia to come, right?

Pakistan was opposed to Delhi in 1947, as it was in 2019. Nothing has really changed between you and me. It's your buddies you should now worry about, not your lifelong enemies.

India has rejected Nepal's new map, calling it a 'unilateral act' that is not based on historical facts or evidence.

The lower house of Nepal's Parliament on Saturday approved a new map of the country, including areas disputed with India, the speaker of the national legislature said.

The move signals a hardening of Nepal's position over a decades-long border dispute that has strained ties between the South Asian neighbours.

ndia has rejected Nepal's new map, calling it a "unilateral act" that is not based on historical facts or evidence.

Nepal published its revised map in May after India inaugurated an 80km (50 miles) road connecting its northern Uttarakhand state with Lipulekh on the border with Tibet that passes through the land Nepal says belongs to it.

The map shows a sliver of land on the northwest tip of Nepal as the Nepali territory.

Agni Prasad Sapkota, the speaker of Nepal's House of Representatives, said the new map was approved by 258 out of 275 members of Parliament, exceeding the required two-thirds majority. There were no votes against.

The map must also be passed by the National Assembly, the Parliament's upper chamber, and approved by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari before it becomes a part of the constitution.

Prachanda, a former prime minister and chief of the ruling Nepal Communist Party, said Nepal did not want to complicate the matter and seeks a peaceful settlement.

"We want to resolve the issue with India through peaceful talks at the political and diplomatic levels," Prachanda, the former Maoist rebel chief, who still goes by his war nom de guerre, said in Parliament on Saturday.

There was no immediate comment from India on the parliamentary vote.
