Friends,

I have to buy a laptop for my wife who is a corporate trainer. I seek help regarding its configuration as I find the technical terms rather confusing.

The desired requirements / usage is as follows :

1. Good ( max ) memory.
2. Light weight.
3. Long battery life between recharges.
4. Useage - Powerpoint, video clips, MS office
5. Webinar
6. Max info kept on desktop

What should I seek technically in the Lap top I buy ?

Urgent suggestions are solicited.

Go for HP probook

1. Memory: 8GB Ram and 750 HDD (many models include 4Gb ram but can be upgraded)
2. Feels light. I am using it. (Bought it a week ago)
3. Battery life is good.

Probook series can be purchased anywhere between 35k to 40k. However if you can stretch your budget to 50K then Dell Inspirion series and HP pavallion series are also a good option.

Probook with 4Gb ram are available on flipkart. i3 processor will cost you around 35K while i5 may cost you anywhere between 45k to 50k. (both are 5th gen processors)

However, if you are a dell fan then do consider buying inspirion series....will cost around 45k to 50k.

Go for Macbook Air. It exactly fits your requirements. Light weight, and very long battery life and all the tings you listed above.

.
Macbook is honestly the best. Aluminum casing so it can be transported without to much care. OS X very user friendly, minumum 8 gb, very fast, very long battery life (7+ hrs), has ppt, word, all free.

.
Or you can also choose Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro notebook.

I came here to quote you a badass gaming system like ASUS Maximus III Extreme with Quad Titans in SLI powered by Corsair AX1200. 64 GB DDR3 Memory, 2 X Samsung 1TB 850 EVO mSATA SSD in Raid 0 and 2 X Seagate 1TB HDD in RAID 1. And for monitors 3 X LG 34UM94 Ultrawide Monitor. [I dunno about you but I am getting a huge hard-on just by typing the specs !!]

Lenovo G50 i3 4th gen 4gb ddr3 500gb hdd. Best for u. Don't go for i5 etc. This i3 is hell powerfull than i5s. U'll be wasting money if u go higher. If u have more money go for Apple.

Any advise on a dust proof and heat resistant high performance system? I have lot of compute need and Lenovo laptops seem to give way fairly frequently.

First you should wait till 29th july if you have no mood to buy or me MAC
For me DELL is robust but I have no Idea why females hate it.
Sony VAIO, HP & DELL is good choice
in which most of them provide 4 GB RAM
Processor - you should be go to I7 if budget allow neither i3 or i5 (from my experience both are same except later are more energy efficient)
You should also check their graphic card specification.
And most important is that kindly buy laptop which provides keyboard backlight .

I think your criteria is perfect for your wife's usage. I would say buy any ultra portable, except macbook. She will have problem using the OS(if from windows), and many companies in India cant easily help if you need.
So stick to windows.
ASUS ux305 is 50k on flipkart.
