Nearly half of Australians are anti-Muslim: study

Thing is Aussies aren't closet racists, if they don't like you they ll let it be known. Biggest no no is if you come to Australia and question and threaten their way of life.

There was this Muslim cleric here in Sydney, who couple of years back during one his sermons in a local mosque, compared "white/western Australian girls" as open meat, and said if you leave the meat in open the cats will come get it. He was pretty much saying that if you don't cover up, then don't complain about getting rape. And then people wonder why such anti-Muslim opinion.

I have lived around Australia and never been treated differently for being a Muslim. This is a great country and people's attitudes are changing slowly as they are opening up to the world.

Most of the Australians do not go to universities and drop out of school to take some trade which is a factor in this Attitude which i wont say is Anti Muslim its just lack of Education and understanding.

I would agree with Sohni dharti , Australians love to joke around and they are quite well receptive to jokes too , i joke about Australians and their obsession with beer and kangaroos all the time and never got any backlash. People here want to have a laugh and i guess its all right until the doesn't turn violent which has happened in the past a few times.

Most of these people who are anti muslims would be low educated bogans who don't give a sh!t about anything and are quite jingoistic. Other than that its all great , Muslims get treated quite well , we get high ups on our Eid sermons and in mosques.

I just hope this situation gets better and created debate rather than confusion.
