ISLAMABAD: PPP will soon finalize its candidate for NA-55 after the approval of Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, said Secretary Information of Pakistan People’s Party Fouzia Wahab to APP here.

‘Besides Amir Fida Paracha, Aitezaz Ahsan and others are potential candidates to contest the election,’ she remarked.

To a question over the agenda of All Parties Conference (APC), she said that meeting will be convened to resolve the outstanding issues of Balochistan.

She added that all the recommendations of the APC will be made public after evolving final consensus between political parties.

Nawaz Sharif to vie for NA-55 Rawalpindi elections

LAHORE: Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif have welcomed the Supreme Court decision as ‘vindication of public aspirations.’

‘The judiciary has now started giving popular decisions,’ Nawaz told newsmen at his Raiwind residence here after the apex court verdict.

Referring to his earlier disqualification by a three-man bench, the former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-N chief said it won little approval from the masses.

He told a questioner that he did not know how and on whose order the verdict was given against him.

Asked whether he would contest the NA-123 (Lahore) or NA-55 (Rawalpindi) elections, he said all such decisions would be taken by the party.

However, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said at a separate media talk that the party chief would be fielded from NA-55.

Replying to a question about the Balochistan situation, Nawaz said all the political and religious parties should play their role in bringing the province into the mainstream and instead of leaving its people in the lurch.

Meanwhile, Shahbaz said the judiciary that won its independence on March 16 had started giving independent decisions, rekindling hopes of millions of justice-seekers.

He said the locks put on the institution of judiciary by a dictator were broken by the masses on March 16.

He said Nawaz, after winning from NA-55, would work in the parliament for the repeal of the 17th Amendment.

He said appointments to higher courts must be made in accordance with the Charter of Democracy.

He hoped that judicial authorities would purge the institution of corruption as the Punjab government had increased salaries of lower courts’ officials to make them free from economic troubles.

He told a questioner the SC verdict would not affect the PPP-PML-N relationship in Punjab.

It will be a very good competition and a acis test for PPP or PML(N) if either lose then it will be a big fall from grace for either parties and their political future.

. .
i dont think NS will be competing from NA 55. its something else for sure. PPP has decided to not field any candidate against NS

.
NS will contest elections from Lahore!

It will be between, Sheikh Rasheed and Aitzaz Ahsan...

I doubt that just for seat in the NA, No this just win or lose whoever has the support of the people, gains the upper hand. But I have to say Rawalpindi has been be a strong hold for the PML-N since most of the middle class and business community supports them.

That is the approach or the spin many analysts are giving to the stand off and I feel that PPP wil have to win this seat to gain a moral high ground if not anything, even though I am pro PML(N) Nawazz's return to parliament may make President Zardari flitch and that can cause a lot of damage.

.
it all can become , very intresting if IMRAN also decides to run from NA-55?;):enjoy:
AFTER all, he needs to show pakistani peoples that, he has the support of pakistani peoples & he is not just a emotional allrounder!;)

I think, they will not stand against each other. They have very good relations.
Oh yes Imran khan has a chance here.

But If any big man loses it will create the problem for his party.

Zardari wouldn't like NS in parliment, thats for sure.

After all Mr 10% have to live in the world.
