Nawaz Sharif To Visit Lanka’s Most Sacred Buddhist Shrine -The New Indian Express
Not to be outdone, India brought the Kapilavastu relics to Lanka in August 2012.
he is going there to visit not to pray to anyoneThe only issue will be if Wazir-e-Azam of Pakistan prays to the idol or statue of Buddha. Praying to idols is a big NO NO.
Not our country not our issueSo, its "Buddham Sharnam Gachchhami" for Nawaz Sharief.
Wish someone from Pakistan could have persuaded Talibans when they did Bamiyan.
Kapilvastu is in Nepal, how could India get relics from Nepal to Sri Lanka?
No and please don't discuss religion here, it is quite common for head of states to visit famous places including the religious one.Isn't it anti islam to visit kafirs worship places?
Jizya is tax the non-Muslims needed to pay. The Muslims had to pay zakat. Once the person pays his tax he gets guaranteed security of his family, property, wealth and is not required to join the army.i will reply to your remaining post after doing research but first please enlighten me on what is jizya?
I visited a gurdwara in Sialkot,Lahore a temple in Sialkot and a church in Islamabad i must be a kafir by nowIsn't it anti islam to visit kafirs worship places?
So in short you were expecting a oh its haram bro and all you got was a fuk it i dont give a flying, swimming, under water, intergallatic or microscopic fukWell i was directly quoting a news item.. Neither was the thread heading altered nor the content.. So it's far from a trolling effort but a query on the reason for such an article to appear.. Again my intention is to get the reaction from those ideologically far right in these forums NOT the majority of posters with the more consensual view point.. Lets not kid ourselves i have had quite a number of exchanges with those that holds a view that this would be against the very fundamental tenants of Islam.. Again that may well be the view of a minority here but a strong view nontheless
There is no real reason to get defensive
my question was about muslim visiting kafir worship place not head of state visiting kafir worship place. No and please don't discuss religion here, it is quite common for head of states to visit famous places including the religious one.
i loved it how you lied about jizya.Jizya is tax the non-Muslims needed to pay. The Muslims had to pay zakat. Once the person pays his tax he gets guaranteed security of his family, property, wealth and is not required to join the army.
This explains it better.

I'm not a huge fan of the Mughals in India. Instead of looking at the Mughals take a look how the early Arabs conducted their work. The companions or the prophet have never told non-Muslims to pay tax to worship their idols. Mughals aren't really a good idea for your argument. However, they're what your argument is based upon so it's pretty much irrelevant.okay i respect your opinion whether it is right or wrong. have a good day.
please educate yourself
In India, Islamic rulers imposed jizya on non-Muslims starting with the 11th century. The taxation practice included jizya and kharaj taxes. These terms were sometimes used interchangeably to mean poll tax and collective tribute, or just called kharaj-o-jizya.
Jizya expanded with Delhi Sultanate and continued during most of the Mughal Empire rule. Alā’ al-Dīn Khaljī, a Sultan of the Khilji dynasty who ruled over most of North, West and parts of Eastern India, from 1296 to 1316 AD, legalized the enslavement of the jizya and kharaj defaulters. His officials seized and sold these slaves in growing Sultanate cities where there was a great demand of slave labour. The Muslim court historian Ziauddin Barani recorded that Kazi Mughisuddin of Bayanah advised Alā’ al-Dīn that Islam requires imposition of jizya on Hindus, to show contempt and to humiliate the Hindus, and imposing jizya is a religious duty of the Sultan.
In late 14th century, mentions the memoir of Tughlaq dynasty's Sultan Firoz Shah Tughlaq, his predecessor taxed all Hindus but had exempted all Hindu Brahmins from jizya; Firoz Shah extended it over all Hindus. He also announced that any Hindus who converted to Islam would become exempt from taxes and jizya as well as receive gifts from him. On those who chose to remain Hindus, he raised jizya tax rate.
Hindus who paid Jizya in Muslim-ruled parts of India were not free to practice their religion openly, and those who did were persecuted and killed. Sultan Firoz Shah Tughlaq, for example, wrote.
The Hindus and idol-worshipers had agreed to pay the money for toleration (zar-i zimmiya) and had consented to the poll tax (jizya), in return for which they and their families enjoyed security. These people now erected new idol temples in the city and environs in opposition to the Law of the Prophet which declares that such temples are not to be tolerated. Under Divine guidance I destroyed these edifices, and I killed those leaders of infidelity who seduced others into error, and the lower orders I subjected to stripes and chastisement, until this abuse was entirely abolished. – Autobiography of Sultan Firoz Shah Tughlaq, Futuhat-i Firoz Shahi
Jizya was temporarily abolished by the third Mughal emperor Akbar, in late 16th century. However, Aurangzeb, the sixth emperor, re-introduced and levied jizya on non-Muslims in 17th century. Aurangzeb ordered that the collected jizya be used to support the increasing number of Muslim clerics in his empire.
The tax was intended to encourage conversion of non-Muslims to Islam. now you must know why there are large number of muslims in sub continent.
He will be accompanying Taliban along with him, I wish this sacred shrine donot become another bamiyan Buddha, best of luck for srilanka.I wonder what the few of the more fundamentalist Islamic Pakistani posters here think about this
Nawaz Sharif To Visit Lanka’s Most Sacred Buddhist Shrine -The New Indian Express
COLOMBO: Giving a new look to Islamic Pakistan in keeping with changing times, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will be breaking a time honoured religious taboo to visit Sri Lanka’s holiest Buddhist shrine, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth at Kandy, when he is in the island nation on an official visit between January 4 and 6.
However, the ice had been broken way back in December 2010 itself, when the then Pakistani President, Asif Zardari, responded favourably to a request from the then Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa to send the Buddhist relics of Gandhara for exhibition in Lanka. In June 2011, the Director of General of Archeology, Pakistan, Dr Fazal Dad Kakar brought down the Gandhara relics to Lanka. Pakistani High Commissioner Seema Ilahi Baloch ceremonially presented a casket containing the relics to monks of the Bodhigyana Kapuwa temple at Kaduwela near Colombo. Not to be outdone, India brought the Kapilavastu relics to Lanka in August 2012.
Pakistan is clearly keen on using its Buddhist past to promote ties with Sri Lanka with which it has been having excellent relations on account of its unstinted military support to the island nation during its 30 years war against Tamil separatists. During his current visit, Nawaz Sharif will be signing 10 agreements to promote trade and investment. There will be an agreement to monitor money laundering and terror financing also.
Killing a human being(not just muslims anybody from any religion) is killing a whole humanity and saving a human being is saving whole humanity thats what quran teaches mate. Get your facts right. No where in Quran says kill innocent even they are non believer. I think you had read arun shuri books about islam quite alotplease dont lie in quran it is written true muslims should kill kafirs.
I haven't seen you insult any religion but people like you are rare category in Muslims. i have even seen admin of this site mocking Hinduism frequently.
@Horus
yes Hindus worship the Abrahamic God. we Hindus can literally worship anything
yes we can all exist as humans and show respect to each others faith. but radical Islam is main hurdle in it.
