Well i guess you're right, i am not a pashtu speaker but have pashtun blood in me.... used to give a lot of heed to religion, now.... not so much, as far as pashtunwali goes you're right pashtuns mix it a lot with religion IMPO....I have noticed this trend mostly in pashto speaking people, the only athiest pakistanis that I met in my life in person while living in europe were all pashto speaking folks so-called champion of islam group in pakistan .
Since then I have got doubtful about muslim credentials of pashto speakers and their understanding of Islam as a religion, many already say their religion is pashtunwali, watch this video of a captured pashtun taliban in afghanistan who does not even know who "Muhammad" the prophet of islam is , but I am sure he knows who Ahmed shah abdali the trash is
But in pakistan religion should be a personal matter not national...
