Nawaz accuses security establishment of orchestrating his ouster, bringing Imran to power

Simple. There is appetite among certain Pakistanis to support such a malignant party.
Banning wont help. it will have opposite effect.
the only way to make the opposition irrelevant is a self good performance. for a start bloody complete the infrastructure projects in Peshawar and address all mismanagement and corruption charges related to Peshawar BRT.

.
Nawaz sharif with backing of every ethnic nationalist party who hate army, punjabis like pashtun PTM/achakzai, baloch mengal, PPP etc support N league Nawaz. They would rather be ruled by democrat punjabis then punjabi army.

Meanwhile non-punjabi youthia here are living in their own buble.

Non-punjabi youthia hate punjabis but have no problem being ruled by punjabi army.

Ethnic nationalist parties hate punjabis but have no problem with punjabi democratic N-league.

Its matter of picking army rule over democracy. In either case punjab will always play must important factor because of demographics, nothing will change that. Ethnic parties would rather live in democracy then army rule for good reason. South punjab province isn't going to change that, 40% of their population is punjabi settler and all want south punjab province.
Nawaz is no democrate ...like any other politican a corrupt one ..only good thing was his people kept control on prices of basic necessities

I feel really embarrassed for all PTI supporters who apologize for PTI.
your post is so wrong in many counts that I felt bad for you.

the only real performance of PTI is that it has criticized Nawaz league and PPP for the past 2 years. thats all.
and it was doing that already while in opposition. why did it even bother to come to the govt.

Great Flood performance? really? which parallel universe you been living in? water/ agricultural policy? ? the thugs in govt smuggled/ exported the wheat out to create shortage and now importing it at higher price. fuel prices, utility rates, food prices, the conduct of its goons imposed on civilian administration including police. the way IG police has been humiliated the way the safdar's arrest has been mishandled

I urge that all PTI supporters must quickly head to the ring roads you listed and go in circles reminding the general public how great PTI is before the govt finally falls on its face.
@Tameem

Imran Khan has undoubtedly failed in many ways. It was too much for him and frankly it would be for anyone. Imran Khan or any leader for that matter needs a lot of time and luck to turn the fortunes of Pakistan. Pakistan deals with internal and external problems. That is not easy to resolve. You need some luck on your side to perform. He didn't have any.

Having said that, he is still the best option Pakistan has under the circumstances. Unless we find ourselves better canididates which is unlikely.

The problem is people have dance too much on this so called " anti Pakistan rhetoric "..
People don't have basic necessities and someone keep harping ""Indian agenda"does not fill stomach of families...

No body has problem with Punjab being a part of federation everybody wants same progress and opportunity

if its even remotely true then he should be CM of Southern Punjab and PTI should bring the legislation as it originally proposed. but it cant because then it will lose the north to Noon league due to its representation in the Punjab assembly.

I will politely dismiss your claim. his performance in the entire province matches his clueless facial expressions.
You are right regarding loosing north and central punjab to noon league. Pti if divide the punjab then North punjab will have a noon league CM because noon league has more MPA's then pti unless PTI make a forward bloc of Noon league. Secondly if punjab is divided then Sindh particularly Karachi or south sindh will have a strong claim to divide also which Establishment do not want I belive. Establishment dont want to antagonize sindh and PPP at this time.

So you calling everybody is being used pmln ,pop, anp, pkmap or whatever ? Or they are traitor since they don't agree with style of government ..by this logic majority of Pakistanis are used ...
About local things , we can agree to disagree but yes there are locals you can not convert gawadar into Punjabi dominated city or Sindh into another ...you can't convert locals into minority ...
So there are locals and non locals but yes being in federation everybody is allowed to move and stay or worked anywhere..

Yeah disregard all my post with aain baain shaain ki baatien. Not my fault that your heart beats alongside the Noonies.

I'm sure you are missing the time of PML-N where rivers of milk and honey were flowing, but lets ignore current account deficit was $20b.

Obviously by that metric PTI failed badly. They can never match PML-N in that.

Just today PM tweeted that current account deficit is now a surplus of around $750m in the first quarter. This is coming after annual CAD left by your favour Nooners was $20b. How do you envision the country pays a deficit of $20b?

Yeah not much of an achievement obviously.

Can't believe this person is a "senior moderator".

The humiliation of Sindh police has been brutal for sure, but similar damage has also already happened to PIA. And I agree with your assessment on Nawaz for the most part too, there’s a lot to atone for, and simply talking in favour of democratic principles etc does not win my confidence.

no body is my favorite . definitely not the two dynastic parties. Although their former colleagues are visible in PTI at the moment,
please get this in your head that you don't need to provoke me and avoid snide remarks because it will just kill your argument.

I want to know the breakdown and the source of this claimed surplus.
what has turned it around from 20B negative to 750M positive? I have serious doubts with this claim because it looks like toxic borrowed money not something we earned through tax collection, import duties or exports.
its been over 2 years PTI is in govt., 92 world cup winning was glorious but its a distant memory.
PTI must come off the container mentality and sell it to the people that it is serving them well. preaching the converted wont really solve the food and fuel prices and its shortages. unemployment and morbid corruption and mismanagement.

Sigh. You know what irks me the most. When somebody who is not not from an area, hasn't visited that area yet claims to b experts of that area. He revealed his source which was 'relevant ministers and officials' so he is filled with propaganda and pretty photo images and advertisements. Reality is unfortunately far harsher and more cruel. I live in sheikhupura and Lahore. Have legal practice in both areas. Purana Lahore and sheikhupura district center. The works of the current administration have shaken the belief of the most greatest of PTI supporters and where once there existed extreme divided thought, there now exists only one that the current administration is incompetent. 'Naya pakistan' is now a joke employed by many to make a jest which denotes how sad the situation is and how hopeless the people have become. If I ignore the rising food process, the extreme utility bills and the zero accountability of corruption (which as to be the hallmark of this administration), and simply focus on say seen development, I would say I have seen baffling stuff. The sewerage of sheikhupura, once finely built in 2014 is now in ruins. It reached such a situation that large scale puddles of sewerage water could be found and is found to this day at civil quarter road and shershah road both extremely important roads along with ghung road and farm road. In 2013 the roads were exemplary and the city looked to be growing at a larger scale however now they are all broken with potholes. Only one road saw work for improvement which is farm road, about 2km tops and it has taken Mian khalid two budgets to not complete it, its still in works. So two budgets can they be explained? Floods nothing. He is disaster management but nothing. Wheat crisis was absolutely handled in the worst fashion possible and are talking about covid when we exported all masks despite all health officials warning and then witnessed a massive shortage where a second hand piece of crap mask was being sold for 20rs. So many more tales but at 12:12am I care not to speak too much but I would say this that you have won an argument good sir when the other attacks you or your station personally.

So let us enjoy the gymnastics.

First of all the fact that you think a current account deficit can be covered with 'tax money or import duties' tells me all I need to know about your economic knowledge.

Think I have to start from scratch. Current account essentially relates to the amount of dollars coming into the country vs the amount going out. Now Pakistan cannot print dollars, but it does need dollars to trade with the rest of the world. What should it do? It tries and earn them through exports and also depend on the benevolence of overseas Pakistanis who send their hard earned money to Pakistan in the form of much needed dollars. Now Pakistan uses these dollars to pay for imports. In a very basic sense the equation becomes:

exports + remittances - imports = current account

There are other factors too but lets keep it simple. Now during the previous government our current account was in a deficit of 20 billion dollars. The trade deficit (imports - exports) was touching $40b and remittances were only at around $20b. How do you envision the government would pay this gap of $20b? The Nooras took loans and plenty of them.

When PTI took over these loans had not only become matured there weren't alot of dollars left in the country to continue on the same path. This is what why you saw IK going to friendly countries asking for bail out AND severe devaluation in the currency took place. He wasn't begging for himself. He was begging for YOU and the rest of the nashukri quam, so that your head remains above the water and that you don't have to pay Rs500 for a single naan. That is also why IK's government had to go to IMF.

Now what did the PTI government do to curb the $20b current account deficit? For starters remittances were incentivized to be channeled through official means. Hawala hundi business was cracked down on and offices of forex dealers participating in shady businesses were raided. This all led to remittances increasing to $21b in FY19 from $20b in FY18, and then to $23b in FY20. So far in FY21, remittances are 20-30% higher than FY20. I hope we breach the level of $25b by the end of the year.

The next factor in the equation is imports. PML-N government took imports of goods and services to $67b, we were importing everything from expensive cheese to mineral water to fancy cosmetics. If you earn a middle class income and you go out and buy a Ferrari you wouldn't survive very long. Same principles apply to countries. The PTI government severely curbed unnecessary imports and increased taxes and tariffs on luxury items. Devaluing the currency and high interest rate also discouraged imports. This is all lead to imports dropping from $67b in FY18 to $42b in FY20.

Exports growth has lagged behind since you cannot just build industry in a day or even a year, with the strict monetary policy the exporters didn't even have funds available to invest and enhance capacity or to set up new ventures. That being said, even with the covid shock our exports have held their ground and not plummeted like India and Bangladesh. Early signs for this fiscal year are good and we may match the performance of previous couple of years. Obviously need of the hour is to increase exports substantially, but PTI are having to start from scratch because during the PML-N government exports of goods fell from $25b in 2013 to $23b in 2018 showing signs of deindustrialization in the country.

Also since you mentioned "tax money" jeeringly, I'll let you know that last fiscal year was the first time FBR collected over Rs 4000b in taxes. The target was Rs 5000b and we were on track for that as well but with corona hitting and zero economic activity in the last quarter we fell short of the target. In FY21, the target is again Rs 5000b and the revenue collection numbers for the first quarter show that we are exceeding the target so far.

Hope my post helped fill the massive gaps in your knowledge.
