Commander: Persian Gulf to Remain "Persian" Forever
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari underlined the Persian identity of the Persian Gulf, and dismissed certain states' claims on the ownership of the sea.

"The Persian Gulf has always been Persian, it is Persian and it will remain Persian forever" contrary to the will of enemies, Sayyari said on Sunday, addressing Army cadets on the occasion of the Nation Persian Gulf Day in Iran.

When the Iranians speak, you stay quiet!

You do understand that you aren't in the Kingdom right and that everybody has a right to express his opinion on PDF ? :azn:

I have seen this arrogance from you in a couple of threads ... Keep one thing in mind , that you are no one to tell anyone whom to speak for and what to speak for ... I sometimes wonder if the behavior is hardwired into the DNA of your lot ...

And the Iranians are speaking other lot of things too , want to hear some of them ?

Merely speaking historic facts , what is so hard to understand about it for some ? :azn:

Even the UN and the world calls it Persian Gulf ... Case closed

No one cares about what some "fans" chant! Persian Gulf was , is , and will remain Persian Gulf.
Some people are able to satisfy their tiny egos with Youtube videos ...

I wonder what if Pakistanis change the name of Arabian Sea :P

If Persia can be renamed to Iran then why cant be Persian gulf renamed to Arabian Gulf ?

That gulf has always belonged to Iran anyway. I don't see why they should give in to a bunch of Arab states and change the name. Actually, 'Iranian Gulf' would be a better idea now that the name of the entire state has been changed from Persia to Iran

Why do u always pick on the Iranians for no reason? First u stay quiet!

Persia can be renamed to Iran because both Persia and Iran point to the same nation mate. The language spoken in Iran, Farsi is what we call 'Persian' in English. They are the same. Persians and Arabs are completely two different people and nationalities. Why would anyone call the Persian Gulf the Arabian Gulf when the waterway belongs to Iran anyway?:meeting:

For the same reason that India can't be renamed to the black Pakistan.

Why "black Pakistan" we have mix black, brown and also blond people , India is derived from the river name "Indus " and it was coined by Britishers and widely used in outside world ,Bharat is the name in Hindi and Hendostan is another name coined by Moslem Rulers this is also widely used even today.

OK stop fighting "NO ARAB GULF NO PERSIAN GULF" we will call it by the great Ottoman name "Khalij of Basra" or "Basra Kurfuzi" meaning the Gulf of Basra.
