Federal minister Naweed Qamer has said that the power crisis of could not be overcome at once.

He said while reviewing the renovation work of Bunds at Tando Muhammad Khan.

He said that government was supervising the reconstruction work with utmost sense of responsibility in order to avoid any untoward situation.

He refuted rumors about overflow of water in the rivers of Pakistan.

Cut nuclear weapons production, that will provide more power for Pakistani citizens. It takes a lot of electricity to run isotope separation equipment on a bomb-making scale.

The corrupt govt is saying the same thing since elected, power generation is decresing while consumption is going up.

Everything has its price, R4R01. You pay for nukes with taxees, power shortages, radioactive waste, natural resources, and talent diverted from other tasks. Sounds to me that your primary interest in them isn't defense or even war but chest-thumping.

That is not the answer nor is such measure gonna be of any major help. Plus, the electricity being provided for nuke weapons comes from separate facilities which have nothing to do with the national grid.

We need to control the tax related corruption in FBR which costs us Rs600-700Billion a year, tax the agri sector generating something close to Rs.250-300Billion, tax the rich ones and those who are not in the tax net making something close to Rs.300Billion, control the expenditure in the Public Sector Companies which eat up somewhere close to Rs.300Billion in the budget, plus control the general corruption which again eats up hundreds of billions of rupees all measure would yield us somewhere close to US$ 17-18Billion or more a year, sufficient for us to become something and get free from the 1Billion US$ aid a year.

Down from its high of more than twice that, and the arsenal continues to decline. The U.S. considered, at one time, that in a nuclear war it would have to battle the entire Sino-Soviet combination. That's a huge area with tremendous armies. Plus Khruschev threatened the U.S., claiming the Russians were producing missiles "like sausages". Pakistan has no enemies like that.

Contrast with China's approach. Reportedly Mao Tsedong said he never needed to match either the U.S. or the Soviet Union. Nuclear weapons? "I only need six, then nobody will touch me." was the phrase if I recall correctly.
