I think even though we have some problem with submarines in BT its gonna be alright by 2013 till then we have 10conventional 2 nuke sub in fleet with lot of new stealth frigate,destroyer,stealthy corv,stealthy ASW and a aircraft carrier going to join navy soon..still a big punch for any navy.And you never know india it can directly procure used kilo class from russia in between lol.

Well no buddy know the reality of second Akula class nuke sub its still a big secret ( Hope for the best )

I do not know the latest situation of meetings made to develop a domestic Pakistani made corvette based on Milgem. In October, A group of Pakistani Naval officials visited first Milgem corvette and It is expressed in those days many times that Pakistan is interested in producing 4 of them.

Let development of a corvette based on Milgem aside, I think Pakistan is waiting for TF-2000 AAW Frigate/Destroyer program to participate. Feasibility reports have been completed and Despite It is not revealed into public until now, Design is ready at present. It would be really strategic enough to change the power balances of the regions exported. At feasibility reports, Even Laser and Microwave weapon systems have also been mentioned. Those destroyers would be used both ASuW and AAW missions thanks to state of art sensors, sonar and radars. In additions, It is also around plans to deploy VL Cruise missiles on them. Hunting such a ship with conventional tactics is almost impossible because Such type destroyers provide 360 degree/hundreds of km aerial Search/Protections against enemy Aircrafts/Missiles thanks to APAR radars having capability of classifying thousands of targets simultaneously.

Still we have a much bigger submarine fleet

and if u look at our naval modernization plan i dont think its the slow one which win the race

6 conventional submarines on order accompanied by 7 nuclear submarines(5 under construction and 2 leased)

and tender's have been issued for 11 more submarines,and another indegenious submarines planned at a cost of $11 billion and around 5 more nuke subs also planned

its not all about fast and smaller size ,its also about stealth ,as you also know that indian navy made stealthy frigates and destroyer as standard naval warship,also right now there are 32 indigenious ship building going on excluding 3 stealth talwar class in russian and deepak class in italy..do ur calculation .
