NATO Shifts Supply Lines Away From Pakistan To Central Asia

This is definitely the US's headache, not Pakistan's. I see a lot of logistical issues sending it through central Asian countries than straight through Pakistan. Pakistan is the ideal route, & if the US is trying to reduce its dependency on Pakistan, it will encounter huge headaches trying to 'rectify' that problem. People also need to realize that drone attacks are dependent on the supply lines, & there is no quicker route than through Pakistan. This could seriously hamper the US's efforts on the WOT, as they would incur high costs with their supply routes through central countries, as well as the extra time that will be consumed using that route. This is definitely a good thing for Pakistan, as it needs to distance itself as far from the US as possible. I think the WOT has went past the point of 'leveraging'.

And a huge chunk of revenue..

The worry however is that it could be an indication of something more serious. Specially if you look at it in concert with some of the media stories and leaks coming out of USA

Revenue :what:? What world have you been living in, NATO's supply has been a constant headache for Pakistani authorities. These massive supply trucks hardly pay a penny in tolls, their huge size causes extensive damage to our road infrastructure and thus we have to invest more money in repairing these roads as compared to what we charge in tolls. Constant Taliban attacks on NATO supply convoys cause massive damage to our infrastructure which we have to pay for out of our own pockets. I must say, Pakistan sold itself cheap. Now the Americans will get a taste of the Russian hospitality when they charge them premium prices, this war just got more expensive for the US. I hope that the entire NATO supply lines move over to Central Asia, this will in reality be a blessing for Pakistan.

How about a Couple of predators returned in pieces boxed up.

Pakistan has enough ammo to shoot down all the drones operating over Pakistan airspace. No question about that. But is Pakistan willing to challenge the might of US beyond public posturing? Only time will tell. Do remember US is merciless in defence of its interests.

Keep repeating that and it will make it true. NATO has given Pakistan more money than its highest foreign reserves till date. Check the numbers. Add up all the money used to maintain the road infrastructure by Pakistan and it will not dent the massive aid and hard cash dolled out for WoT in Pakistan.

Mate, you are just repeating the lines fed to you by the leaders with vested interests. Can you even imagine the 11.6 billion dollar bailout package given by World Bank to Pakistan without the US push. Without that Pakistan today would have had the dubious honor of being one of the few countries that have defaulted on its sovereign debt. and I dont even want to get into the military and civilian aid discussion.. Believe you me, it will be a sad day for Pakistan if and when USA decides to switch to an alternate route for supplying its troops in Afghanistan..

no infact we will not loose the only leverage against us ..... we will play double then ..... we will ask china to pressurize russia over routes and off-course atleast 50% of routes will remain with pakistan they cannot shift it all to uzbik ......... now it all depends to our top brass of army and top leadership how they handle it

China has no leverage over Russia since China is a competitor and more so, Russia is very wary of the increasing Chinese influence with the Central Asian Republics.

Recently, Kyrgyzstan IIRC gave away a mountainous tract to China.

I only want to see that what will be the policy of US towards pakistan after their mission in afganistan ends .....

Let NATO chose a longer more expensive route. The more money they spend in this war OF terror and longer it takes them to get comfortable in Afghanistan, then the sooner NATO will leave Afghanistan.

All Central Asian countries are landlocked countries and Russia is far, far away from Afghanistan. We'll see how NATO will be getting their supplies from Russia through Central Asian Republics into Afghanistan in the dead of winter at the end of this year. Pakistan should withdraw from this war OF terror before winter time and deny NATO supply route through Pakistan.

I love where Pakistan is located in the world map :smitten:

and we will also see how they ship all the hardware out of Afghanistan once the occupation ends before general elections next year in USA...there is only one Antonov 225 in service

They can move out without the hardware i guess.... may be scrap them off...... they got enough $$$$$

Thats not the issue... if they can strike in your country with drones at will moving out the stuff is quite easy i guess

if we can shoot down soviet and afghan mig's travelling supersonic is Pakistani airspace in 80's then we can very well shoot down these remote control planes flied by wannabe fighter pilots

.
C-17s delivered even the Tanks.. they will return by the way they came.. through air..

you dont know anything..if it was all that easy then Pakistan would never have been a nato supply route in the first place....you should be talking about your region that includes bangladesh, nepal, bhutan, burma and a naxalite invasion....what is your interest in this totally different region of Pakistan,Afghanistan and Central asia??
