Nato attack 'pre-planned': DG MO

ISLAMABAD: Director General Military Operations Major General Ashfaq Nadeem Thursday termed the Nato airstrike in Mohmand Agency as a “pre-planned attack,” Geo News reported.

Briefing the Senate Standing Committee on Defence which met under the chairmanship of Javed Ashraf Qazi, the DG MO said Nato officials gave wrong information to the Border Coordination Centre about the location of the operation.

"The bunkers were specifically targeted and destroyed," Maj. Gen. Ashfaq Nadeem told the Senate body.

Nadeem added that terrorists hide inside ditches and cracks and not on mountain peaks which is where the check posts were located.

The DG MO said the only confusion was if the attacks were conducted by US Special Forces or ISAF.

I don't know how you expect the rest of the world to believe anything that comes out of pakistan , when it shy’s away from joint investigation. Joint investigation ensures that one sided report , cover up does not come out. because joint investigation allows both sides to write the final report!

the creditability of pak's military is low enough. at first they claimed they had full knowledge and a hand in the OBL raid too.. I mean how do you guys blindly believe them- if they shy away from a joint investigation?

dont worry about the world its btw Pakistan and USA non of your business. When you don't know anything don't start posting your comments. Pakistan Army and Govt never claimed that they knw about the raid. This miss information coming from Clinton when she said "Pakistan help us" its mean she was talking about Intel not the operation.

Pakistan army is the part of Pakistani people they are not separate thing . but i think now army has learned a lesson that US and NATO cant be our friends .. so i think now we can hope for good from aarmy

Do you understand what a Joint investigation means? you don't need to be rocket scientist to understand it.. it is in place to avoid the exact kind of cover ups you want to avoid . both sides have access to the final report and share all data and findings... it was mighty generous of NATO in offering it, considering they have open up some classified information or give up communications 'ways' used by NATO troops.

The investigations of US on previous attacks on Pakistan Posts didn't provided any results.... Based on that experience Pakistan Forces and Official have rejected this so Called Fake "joint Investigation".....

If you are an American then ask your government about the results of investigations of previous attacks and who among the US and ISAF forces were punished for that.......

What public consumption ? You dont attack a post and kill half of the company by getting attack clearance through fake co-ordinates ( meaning the original operation wasn't being conducted there ) and then when PA contacts NATO and tells you have hit our check post , you come back again and finish the job off ... No , there's no integrity of the process because the US can always claim that it was a mistake ( this mistake was the 5th one i think until now ) ... It is very clear by the attitude of the intruding helicopters and planes flying CAP in the Afghan airspace at that time that the attack was deliberate ... We need no other proof !
