You can't just discount by saying who he is and who he works for.
You have to address the question he has raised and answer it with logic.
Rolling your eyes and shrugging your shoulders like a teenager does not cut it.
Does his criticism have any merit ? If you disagree with the point he has raised then what is your logical rebuttal ?
His criticism is naive at best and nefarious at worst.
Mr. Patel very conveniently mentions that there is not harm in Mr. Aziz meeting Hurriyat, which is absurd.
Hurriyat leaders are self confessed separatists and their goals are vastly in odds with stated policy of GoI which is Kashmir is an inseparable part of India. Now during 90's when India was its knees financially and politically - certain interests found an opening to prop up Hurriyat and Indian State could not respond due to various pressures exerted on them. Hurriyat thus was falsely legitimized as a representative of Kashmiri people instead of their elective representatives,
No Nation will tolerate Separatist functioning on its turf much less patronize them but our country had to due to exigent circumstances as previously described. Now that the situation is turned around and India is in a much better space economically and voters are turning out in large numbers to vote for non hurriyat leaders in state sanctioned elections - there is no need for GoI to tolerate Hurriyat who themselves have lost their support base. Present Govt has rightly seized upon this and created a new paradigm where GoI stands as the sole representative of all of India instead of separatist elements.
In next 5/6 years if GoI sticks to this policy Pakistan will have no choice but to discard Hurriyat if they want to engage with GoI thus demolishing old precedents and creating new ones.
Mr. Patel realizes all this, even a basic high school student can perceive this let alone a keen analyst of political affairs but due to certain vested anti-national interest he keeps on parroting the words which favor not India but its neighbours.
The conclusion drawn hence by
@levina is correct and brilliant in its simplicity and brevity.
