National Anthem 'Sacrilege' for Kolkata Madrasa

oxymoron is india being called a secular republic while ruled by a reactionary/fascist party with lot of terrorist elements.

As i mentioned in my first post, What denomination the extremist's represent is irrelevant here, And yes if the elected government is a product of reactions then one need to address the issues that the electorate is reacting to

Playing the victim card always just covers up the the problem within

Why the Fark does the authorities tolerate this shyt is beyond my comprehension.. Close all these that produce brainwashed extremist nut cases.. What religion they're is irrelevant

It is not easy mate...... In the name of secularism, there are lot of shit which is pushed under carpet...... Have come across several such things, but never discuss it in a forum like this....

The "extremist" - you refer to have 1st line of defence - i.e riot mobs, second line is the psuedo-intellectual spin doctors to obfuscate the issue at hand, the third line is pollitical affiliations to win constituent assembly seats in elections, and these three lines control a large population which will play the clincher to make or break the fortunes of a political party in a state like west bengal.
So who ever is the politician, for appeasement will turn a blind eye to the problem, at the end of the day, clean up crew is always going to be someone else, but the turmoil is good politics for these scums.

Still better than the resident closet bigot, who covertly defends every anti national on a pakistani forum by obfuscating the topic at hand by bringing in every irrelevant off topic subject just to defend his cohorts.

can you please describe what irrelevant off-topic subject i have brought into this thread??

As i mentioned in my first post, What denomination the extremist's represent is irrelevant here, And yes if the elected government is a product of reactions then one need to address the issues that the electorate is reacting to

i agree.

what should have been in 1947 is a dissolution of the party system and a combined effort to progress india along non-sectarian socialist lines, with a view to eradicate all traditional economic and social inequalities and injustices and oppressions, whichever denomination they originated in.

of course, such a progressing is not confined to that historic period and the movement towards that can be joined right on this very forum if the indian members of any denomination set aside their differences, reject traditionalism and agree with che guevara when he says "another world is possible". :)

as a side fact, the "uniform civil code" ( ucc ) has been spoken of for years in india as a means to create a common progressive and secular set of regulations for social issues that until now were delegated to the "personal laws" of religious denominations or village elders or family elders and so on, even though one aspect of islam has been adopted in india's progressive "civil marriage" law[1] and has had influence on modernizing the marriage laws of other denominations.

however, one waits for the supreme court to make a ruling for ucc to be designed by progressives/socialists as the first step towards turning india into a socialist society.

meanwhile in the rss shakhas, india's national flag is not raised[1]...

why were they arrested by nagpur police in the first place?? is nagpur police the local state side of rss??

okay, that differs a just a little bit from this[2] article from 2014...

so rss only raised the national flag at its national headquarters in nagpur in 2014 only after the precedent of those three activists forcibly raising it at a rss office in 2001 in nagpur itself, yet rss and other groups of the sangh ( old and new ) created the "idgah maidan controvery" ( coercion and riots really ) in hubli city in karnataka in 1994 when they forcibly wanted to raise the national flag in the central idgah ( muslim festival prayer structure and ground ) there... this was just the sangh's attempt to put fear into muslims soon after the babri masjid demolition and the subsequent rampage of the sangh throughout india... here[3] are some details of the hubli incidents and here[4] is the statement on that issue by noted writer, playwright, film actor and director, girish karnad, who belongs to that region.

offences?? when that muslim/otherwise group in the bombay cinema hall chose not to stand for the national anthem, sanghi goons in the cinema hall and their vile nationalist supporters there almost lynched that group yet here is the sangh's primary group, rss, getting the nagpur police to arrest three activists who raised the national flag at rss headquarters where it had been raised only twice.

now i, a socialist, am not the one to quibble about someone not standing for india's current national anthem or not saluting india's current flag but surely when rss accuses others being "anti national" ( whatever that means ), some technical points can be raised against rss too.

Kazi Masum Akhtar, the headmaster of Talpukur Aara High Madrasa in the heart of the city, has been banned from its precincts, after being viciously assaulted by maulanas and their henchmen, for training students to sing the national anthem for the Republic Day in the state where Asia’s first Nobel laureate and West Bengal icon Rabindranath Tagore wrote the song.

So far, Akhtar has appealed to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the governor and the chairman of state minorities’ commission six times, but to no avail.

The maulvis have dubbed the national anthem “sacrilege” and a “Hindutva song”

singing the “Hindu” national anthem and hoisting the Tri-colour in an Islamic teaching institution are anti-Islamic.

Another act of Akhtar that angered the maulvis was his support for the education of Muslim girls.

The Kolkata Police Commissioner has written to the chairman of the Minorities Commission, stating that he was not in a position to provide security to Akhtar as “his presence in the area might lead to communal tension because of his comments in some newspapers.

The last sentence took the cake.

What is happening in Bengal is not surprising to me. :agree:

This IS very much along expected lines. Wait till more lines are drawn - you can't do this, you can't do that...
The best part is that if you fail to comply you get beaten to death, instead of some ink spill fail. :D

@LaBong pls.... do something.

At any cost justify or sing an excuse for this... we need to know how deep the head is in the sand.

@LaBong claimed this in the other thread .. I think he will stick to his stand.

We did what necessary to make janat irrelevant to bengali muslims, Bangladeshis did what necessary to curb jamat terror and slowly making them irrelevant. We shoudn't have let the rajakars to come to kolkata but they sneaked in like rats but will be dealt with if they ever try do anything remotely nasty.

You on he other hand are all talks and no show like your janu pm who is giving yoga lessons when soldires are dying.

LOL. That is no stand. That's a surrender. :D So typically secular. They have courage against Hindus. But against Mullahs... :P

Sorry, but our current Govt. is also behaving in a similar way wrt to Islamism. Better than the previous one, but not what's required.
