For Turks yes. But for the other countries whom were living under ottoman flag, they were thinking that Sultanate was everything. In WW1 a lot of people fight with Ottomans. But it was only the Turks in the Independence War. Even the Ottoman govt fought against us in order to keep the sultanate. But thank the God, Ataturk and other millions of fallen's blood. Destroyed them all. And established a Secular Republic ps i will post it when I find a source

BTW I never said I don't like ataturk, but I am not a fan of some of his policies. That being said I understand why he did some of the things he did but I just think he went a little over the top.
