and @Talon In few universities, if you get admission in one branch but you perform very well, you can get upgraded to other branch of your liking and which wasn't available to you due to cut off marks.

A friend of mine did this in IIT Roorkee.

@KRAIT OIC!! It was weird to say 1 branch of engineering is an upgrade for another branch when both in their respective areas are tough and cant be above another!
