Dr.Shahid Masood is wrong on just every other thing. He dramatize, sensationalize everything. Why even people watch or listen to him.

You can never see the past happenings done here on earth, as the light emitted from those events has already gone into space much earlier, You cannot catch the speed of light which is going away from you. You can only catch the light which is incoming. For instance, if we see a star at a distance of a million light years that means we are seeing the star as it looked like a million years ago. We are not seeing the runtime / live objects.. We are seeing very distant objects, light from which have taken a long period to reach till earth.
the clock on earth ticks slower than those in outer space affected by speed & gravity. So what we see on earth is not exactly the true measure of time & distances .

Well people across the world can applaud China for cheap labor....and if it wasn't for the US you wouldn't even have a microwave oven right now. Just one item in a huge list that families around the world take for granted in their daily lives.
cheap labor only plays a very small part, you can always find cheap labor but it doesnt change the fact that a simple microwave oven still cost $799 in 1990s, ever wonder why?

Invented by an American...what a shocker...
irrelevant and unimportant. once America is ded most of your inventions will become obsolete eventually, doubt people 200 years later are still using microwave ovens. kek.

Simple countertop microwave ovens (as opposed to the bigger wall mounted ones) were not $799 in the 1990's. They were only high in the 1970's when they first came out due to the magnetron's price-point not being perfected. My family bought a countertop microwave in the early 1980's and it wasn't $799.

TV Commercial in 1985 showing the transition to microwaved popcorn. Making 1985 the likely year microwave sales really took off at a good price point.


by 1987 TV commercials (like Hot bites) were ditching mentioning "heating in the oven" and replacing it "pop it in the microwave". So it had already become mainstream.


However Hot Bites previous 1984 commercial showing it was exclusively for ovens (not a mention of microwave) which shows around 1985 was the jump in microwave adoption.

This is before "Made in China". If anything things were transitioning to "Made in Japan" with consumer electronics companies like Sharp and Panasonic.


Let's check the Sears Catalog for "1990's" prices (they were considered the "Amazon" of the pre-internet days..notice the high page numbers)

Here's Kenmore (US) countertop microwaves selling for $99-$119 in the 1991 Sears Catalog. :whistle:

If microwaves were still costing $799 in China in the 1990's I wouldn't be wondering/surprised at all. You can thank the CCP for yet again gouging you guys on consumer items with high import taxes to prevent you from having them. :coffee:

Yes that's clear. But may be its technogy limitation that such imagery results can't be achieved in other longer lasting techs, such as the one used in hubble.

It also has a cryo-cooling pump mechanism that may not last. Moving parts are bad.

There are plans for refuelling the telescope as well. If those plans are carried out successfully, then its life may be extended beyond 10 years as well :)

Dear, usually I don't but some time to check the political status of the country I used to randomly scan through some channels of 'experts' analysts. You are right, now a days he used a few sentences on political scenarios and later takes you to the different corners of the world. There I heard his statement of James Webb telescope and seems like a 'fairy tale' but also raised the curiosity that, is it true? Could it happen?
Anyhow thanks for the brief explanation you shared to clear the concept.

i think that episode was exaggerated. There is no way you can see the past on Earth. He mentioned you could see the dinosaurs roaming ,If that is true it means you can see all the Prophets and the events. Never going to happen.

1970's Amana commercial. Amana was the first consumer company to make portable tabletop microwaves.

Not really relevant here but Amana as a brand which is now relegated to cheap sub-par low-market appliances under Whirlpool Corporation. The other brands under whirlpool are all higher brands such as JennAir, KitchenAid, Maytag and Whirlpool. Jenn Air is the ultra luxury brand among the bunch.

But the point is, US chest-beating is useless when you look at statistics. Once China gains the upper hand in educational institutions - and can attract sufficient numbers of talented students and teachers to China, then game over for US.

In 2017, nearly half of the first-year, full-time graduate students in the natural sciences & engineering in the US were foreign-born.

US high school kids just aren't going into STEM educational programs, which means a decline of scientific and engineering talent produced.

Between 1995 and 2015, the number of full-time domestic students enrolled in graduate computer science programs increased by 45 percent, from 8,627 to 12,539 students (50%+ foreigners. mostly from Asia), while the number of full-time international graduate students increased by about 480 percent, from 7,883 in 1995 to 45,790 in 2015.


This trend is not reversible. Those glory days when the US itself came up with TV's, microwaves, cellphones are waning. And the US politicians are worrying about stuff like what bathroom some cross-dresser will be allowed to use.
