Because it seems you are looking at selective facts to make your argument.

Nations, unlike individuals donot form relations of loyalty. The Chinese understand that just as well as we do. The Chinese are looking out for their sole interest, and if to get their interest, Pakistan becomes a casualty, they will not even hesitate twice like USA or any other major nation.

China has been offering to invest hundreds of billions of dollars for the last many years. India under Congress kept saying no to all Chinese investment because of misplaced security concerns.

Now BJP is going to accept Chinese investment in all sectors apart from strategic ones. China has been waiting all along to invest massive money in India. They have a lot of surplus cash to invest.

As a matter of fact my friend, if India agrees Chinese investment in India would probably be their largest physical investment in any country outside of China.

To let you know one more fact that you would probably be unaware of - Narendra Modi has a brilliant relationship with China. Infact China broke all protocols when Modi visited China a few years back as CM(when he was not even projected as PM candidate). Modi was given the protocols that a visiting Prime Minister gets and met Heads. And Chinese are most keen to invest in Gujarat.

South Asia is India's traditional influence, The congress messed it up, the BJP is well on its way to reestablish it. The swearing in ceremony of Modi was enough of a hint.

He has other things to balance out as well in geo politics.

One thing I did notice was he hasnt touched on any Muslim power bloc countries - nothing on Indonesia, Malaysia, the Saudis, Iranians etc - wonder what the policy would be?.

Both countries know that the LoC is disputed, both have strict orders to not fire. Both think that the other patrolling is coming in their lands. The only reason why you get to read it is because Indian media raises it, and Chinese doesnt. Our most peaceful border is with the Chinese!

Not really. Its not his focus. His focus is on South Asia and East/SE Asia.

A logical assumption would be that he would continue the policies of Congress there. We have started having better relations with KSA and are in the process of getting a few billions of dollars of investment in the chemical sector hubs of India(which have recently been established). Yzd khalifa would tell you better here. It was he who pointed out some Arab investments which are now turning towards India.

Maybe India should set up bases in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan to en-circle China.

US does that quite well.
For us, we can simply leverage US.

Though all said, Vietnam is slowly becoming a strategic partner for India in many ways.
