#MyNameInUrdu movement gaining momentum; love conquers hate

Us Pushtuns usually get mocked for speaking "گلابی اردو" but when I speak Urdu, people have always failed to recognize my ethnicity due to the fluency, fairly correct use of phonetics and grammar because it is my national language and feel proud conversing in it. It also doesn't mean that I cannot speak my mother tongue.
Indians don't speak Urdu. They rather butcher it. People who cannot pronounce simple "خ" have no right to call it their language. Indian should come out this "خوش فہمی" or should I call it "کھوس فہمی".

Whether or not most people speak it does not change the fact Urdu originated in Lucknow, and Lucknow is in India. Hence, Urdu is an Indian language like Hindi, Gujarati, or Marathi.

Nastaliq is native to Pakistan region. It developed hundreds of years ago right here on our land (which of course was Mughal Empire at the time) from a Iranic Arabic script. Pakistan is the largest Nastaliq writing country in the world.

A language goes where the people who speak it go,it does'nt matter where it originated and the people who spoke it be it in lucknow or anywhere else moved to pakistan.if it were'nt for pakistanis no one would be speaking it so it is a 100% pakistani language modern day india has no claim on it.

There are 80 million native speakers of Urdu in India. You are aware that there are over 200 million muslims in India right?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urdu

And your statement makes no sense. If most Italians moved to America and continued speaking Italian in the US, would Italian be an American language?

1 in 10,000 of Indian "Urdu" speakers actually know Urdu.

You are an Elite Member.

What does that mean in English, the language of your colonial masters?

Urdu was a garrison link tongue.

Cheers, Doc

It took us 90 years to throw them out. No need to be jealous about it.

And do not get me started on the composition and roles of different groups in the Mughal army.
