No, it was necessary as per the rising situation in NE and Jammu. A clear message needs to be given. And it is not the government which plans to hype the situation, there are think tanks who advise them to do it. It is good for the confidence building among citizens and Military it self.

I trust my Government more than Burma's government because I am Indian and Not Burmese. ;)

You need to glamorize military too sometimes, why only Politicians take all the charm. And every country does it. :)

Well in this case the indian Army has already back peddled , if the indian army was on the same page with the government's internet bragging they would have come out and said yes we'll do the same on any border , instead the indian Army has issued a statement that is in contradiction to the bravado , so how does that help sending out a 'clear' message ?

I am not concerned about the past operation. The situation has changed dramatically in past 3-4 years. The rules of engagement have become more brutal.

There were too much news being circulated about separatism in jammu, then ambush happened in Manipur. It looked like country is being surrounded, and the strategy of bleed India by 1000 cuts was taking place.

This was needed.

Army never said they will not do it, army said the situation at LOC is different which is unlike Myanmar , Pakistan cannot be kept in the loop.

Good spin attempt but nowhere does he say anything about informing , he was talking about response or reaction

Lt Gen Saha was replying to a question whether Army will undertake similar operations against militants on the other side of LoC in Azad Kashmir.

"A response or reaction to any operational situation is based on the situation in that area. I do not think it is professionally right to link one (situation) with another," he added.

The damage is done. No matter what you say, your whining on this forum isn't going to make an imaginary operation a reality. Go sleep and live your life. This imaginary operation against bushes and trees is not worth fighting for.
