A true General, professional and no nonsense gentlemen. He will now work for the welfare of soldiers. Leaders are groomed, not just born. A true nationalist whose family also served Pakistan dutifully. We salute him.

To me Gen Kiyani did the bulk of work as far as WoT is concerned, had to deal with talis at it's peak post lal masjid op. Unfortunately that 3 year extension spoiled his reputation big time.

As for Gen Raheel

the good: op zarb e azb, op in Karachi, his pro-activeness in foreign affairs, no meddling in politics, & his keen interest in CPEC.

the bad: wasn't able to undertake any ops in interior Sindh & Punjab, failed to take stern action against those who planted news in Dawn against Pak army (Maryam Nawaz already apologized to him personally, so, that case is now done and dusted)

Glad he didn't take any extension. History will tell who proved to be the better COAS.
