Indian history of redrawing maps to steal Chinese land

From The Hindu Archives, we see "the official [Indian] map as on August 15, 1947." This official 1947 Indian map does not include China's Aksai Chin.

From The Hindu Archives, we see "the [new Indian] map in 1950, with the colour wash. The maps were published under the authority of India's Surveyor General, Brigadier G.F. Heaney." This official 1950 Indian map magically claims China's Aksai Chin.

From 1947 to 1950, India decided it would unilaterally redraw the Sino-Indian boundary map and claim Aksai Chin. I like this Indian trick. I think China should redraw its maps Indian-style and claim whatever we want of Indian territory.

The Indians are doing it and we should copy them. If the Indians are shameless, we should become just as shameless. The only way to deal with an aggressive and expansionist neighbor is to use their own dirty trick of redrawing maps (without any relation to history) against them.

Indian perfidy causing problems along Sino-Indian border

I intentionally picked the official Indian government maps from 1947 and 1950 in The Hindu Archives.

You Indians refuse to acknowledge the official maps from your own government. This is ridiculous.

Your government has been hiding the truth from the Indian people and that's why you Indian nationalists are all brainwashed.

1. After 50 years, the Indian government refuses to release the archives on the events of 1962. It will show that you Indians are the aggressors.

2. The official Indian government maps from 1947 and 1950 clearly show that India decided to REDRAW them to include China's Aksai Chin between August 15, 1947 and 1950.

3. You Indians also REDREW the map for South Tibet/Arunachal Pradesh to swallow Chinese territory into India. On pre-Independence maps, the Indian border clearly excluded South Tibet (see Global Security map below from 1916-1937 of self-delimited Indian border).

It is Indian perfidy that has been causing problems along the Sino-Indian border.

In the future, there will be a Sino-Indian war when China reclaims the territory that has been stolen by India. I want all of you Indians to know your country is at fault.

"Arunachal Pradesh...claim is not reflected on pre-Independence maps." Prior to the land-grab of Chinese territory after Indian independence in 1947, Indian maps clearly excluded China's South Tibet/Arunachal Pradesh.

But don't worry, China's going to build their infrastructure to give Indian the ability to better move their troops to counter China in the NE. Some Chinese members actually support Modi without a deeper understanding of his motives. Modi may be pro business, but he's pro Western business.

Good write-up Martian.

India can only counter China in the dreams of Indian ultra-nationalists.

Same as your Republican Party, they make anti-China statements, but they are economic right-wingers (they believe in laissez-faire free trade).

And in the game of trade, we are the winners. See how America's trade deficit to China soared during the Republican administration.

With all parties there viewing China as a strategic adversary, our advantage lies in the side that allows more free trade and more investment.

Modi is the same, an economic right-winger. He can make anti-China rants, the same as every other Indian political party (with Congress in the lead). But the difference is that he will let our money in.

Some people accuse him of killing Indian citizens, but that is irrelevant to me. China's duty is to look after Chinese citizens, no one else.

USD can keep printing money without devaluing their dollar so it's not a big deal if China has a trade surplus against them. What's this about my republican party?

I was about to say the same thing.

Maybe it is the informal nature of newspaper publications, but at least he didn't go on a low IQ Indian rant.

butthurt? Those maps were from Indian government archives.

Why will I be butthurt you weirdo? i just showed you the Mughal Empire map according to which , entire Pakistan ,Afghanistan , Iran , Nepal, Bhutan and some parts of China are a part of India. I would personally be in favor of a UN resolution to assign land area according to historical maps.

.
and what do some retarded Qing Dynasty maps have to do with the People's republic of China, Mr high IQ Chinaman?

Because China was united into a single country over 2000 years ago. There was a clear line of succession from one dynasty to the next, with central authority passing from one to the next.

India was only united into a single country during the period of colonization, the earlier empires had zero continuity to the modern day country. The Mauran empire was a single blip in history that just happened to contain territories similar to that of British India, it did not succeed any authority, nor was it succeeded by any authority that claimed to be India, that was a much more recent phenomenon.

.
Britain especially was a fan of "drawing lines" across territory halfway across the world.

Look at the modern-day maps of Africa, they look like some British guy just took a ruler and drew a line! Look at the top of Sudan for instance, it's just a straight line. With a perfect right-angle at the end.

With India, pretty much the entire boundary line was drawn on the whims of some random British/English guy.

The McMahon line in particular, tell me what gives a "white Englishman" the authority to draw lines across ASIAN territory?

And is Sonia (the most powerful person in India, and incidentally a white European as well) going to enforce that line?

Low Indian IQ on display again.

@Ravi Nair

AAHAHAHAHA

It's like seeing Arundhati Roy getting molested by Maoists.

Again,

BAAAAHAHAHAHA

And with respect to the OP,

Sorry to say Chinese posters, but Han Chinese people have nothing to do with this region of the Himalayas. Your historical and current concentration has always been the Yellow River downstream basin, aka China proper. Just look at Han Chinese population density map, all eastern coast of China. Whereas the majority of India is located just below foothills of the Himalayas.

We may be able to discuss border demarcation and such issues with the legitimate inhabitants of those lands for thousands of years, aka Tibetans and Uighur people, but not Han Chinese. Sorry.

The historical momentum will catch up with you, when you open up and give people a voice. Then you will hear whether Tibetans and Uighurs (or even Inner mongolians) want to have anything to do with Han China/Zhongguo.

Here, my homie Alexander the Conqueror captured huge territories back then.

800px-Alexander-Empire_323bc.jpg

Greece should claim all of them , High IQ Chinese logic :rofl:

The Chinese logic is that for 2000 years in continuity they held certain territories. Not for a few years, a few decades or a few centuries. Almost two millennia. It was after the Europeans, British to be precise came the Sino-Indian border messed up.

Indian claim is, for one, for a certain period before independence the disputed area was under the rule of an Indian king. And the British who decided the borders at independence, and did so for both Indian and Chinese, gave Aksai Chin to India.

So the comparison of a short lived empire with China is wrong.

Well , ok , The Roman Empire lasted for about 400 years. So should almost all of Europe be under Italy?
