‘My conscience has started to revolt’: A Zee News producer quits over channel’s handling of JNU row

Vajpayee also gave us Kargil fiasco and the Khandahar Hijacking and release of terrorists. His weak stand on Hindutva ensured he had to wield a motley coalition. You cannot make a virtue out of a necessity.

You are talking about Power and tactfullness of the Modi govt. when the real issue is the power excersied by the Delhi Police.

Are you suggesting that Modi should interfere wit the working of Delhi Police and all ther institutions. Make your stand clear.

Don't be naive. Mr. Shah brought a Pakistan, anti-national angle to even the Bihar elections. Now Mr. Rajnath's statement on a Pakistan angle to JNU, which has baffled intelligence agencies. The larger strategy is to coalesce its support base with a patriotic angle. Atter the Bihar flop this seems to be the new strategy. Delhi Police is part of the Executive, it is not? Is it some NGO?

Dear Mr. Shah tried to raise soft Hindutva by pointing out that pakistan will rejoice if BJP loses in Bihar. This of course is a statement of fact, but it obviously was to point out to the Hindus that the muslims want to defeat Hindutva forces. (which is also a statement of fact) . But that was election time and an election speech.

Rajnath's statement is not during election time. His quote as HM is backed by intelligence agencies inputs. Or are you now claiming that you have better info about pakistan angle than the HM of India ? :cheesy: ..... now this is baffling. ....... maybe just plain amusing.

Even if it is an political strategy to crack down on Anti-Nationals, it is a good strategy. It is a GREAT strategy. I see nothing wrong with it. Do you ? Is BJP to have no political strategy ? :cheesy: ...... or can political strategy by confide to appeasing muslims ? and not to patriotic base ?

Delhi Police is an Independent Institution and is very much an Executive. They do not serve BJP, they serve India and the citizens of Delhi. Still Confused ?

Someone forgot to tell him two / three things -

When to retire gracefully?

The ability to put one's view across with grace.

& I've forgotten the third point .hold on ! While I change my adult diaper .
I agree he can be a little abrupt but no way to behave with an elder mate.

One of the most subtle hatchet jobs I have been privileged to have been subjected to. May I express my professional admiration of your technique? You remain a swine, but at least you are a sophisticated, suave swine.

Yup.he comes late.none too soon & sometimes never at all.

As I explained to someone more relevant, my return was for one post, on a subject of peculiar disinterest to you and your ilk, and my presence on this thread is accidental and ill-advised, as it brings me back in contact with a variety of low-life.

Be quiet.Are you implying he's done it on purpose.Behave as though your folks taught you to respect your elders, however incontinent they were.[/quote}

Perhaps the intention was never to seriously pursue the charge of sedition. it may be merely to harass & intimidate .You know how it is young educated & politically aware collegian challenges police .reads the police their rights .boorish police slap him around & throw the book at him .kanhaiya dirties his pants .you must have done that too during your days in the Hindustan Socialist Republican Army .

but commies ought to be made of sterner stuff.hell, by the 2 nd day , Kanhaiya filed a sworn affidavit swearing by the constitution. What's this ?? He seems to be more in the mould of a Yechury than a BTR or a SAD.

To be honest the entire freedom struggle of India stank big time.I'd rather it'd be won like the american war of independence or like the Russians waged their revolution or the Chinese theirs .We over emphasise the importance of human life .

The freedom struggle - It almost seemed like pantomime .The big wigs of the congress were treated with kid gloves. The commies held both - the occupiers & the ones who resisted in contempt .the terminology used was more Semitic than anything .bourgeois , proletariat , pagan , Samaritan , prophet , politbureau , etc.

The RSS & the ML were busy cultivating their own constituencies .

Was Veer Savarkar a coward ? He was also accused of being a homosexual .He may not have been honorably discharged in the roll call of freedom fighters .As I recall it , Tilak too struck a bargain with the British & was let off early from Mandalay, after 6 years ?( can't recall the place of his incarceration ) does that make him a lesser freedom fighter ?

Thank you .It takes one to know another.btw , that's a compliment

The difference is that I am straight. That, too, is a compliment.

I'm older than you , you li'l prick.

And here it comes - the furtive glance around, the quick and practised grab.....fortunately it is rare in these eastern climes, and one can let one's guard down.

.
Agreed

But in all honesty there is considerable development work being done in India especially in infrastructure and the Indian media does cover it quite extensively.

I think it is the selective dissemination on PDF that makes anyone think that India is somehow being run by some Dharmic version of the Tonton Macoute.....which is simply quite absurd....but a nice narrative for Pakistan to foster from their point of view.
lollz kary koi bhary koi keep pakistan out sir

.
There is nothing premier about JNU. Its a den of Leftist propaganda and damaging philosophies. But that is besides the point. JNU's notoriety or otherwise is not the topic here.

Rajnath singh as the Home Minister of India has the duty to warn India of the dangers of supporting terrorists. The fact that pakistan tried to fish in troubled waters is a reality.

Hindu Mahasabh so far has not indulged in any anti National activity unlike the Christian Church. A simple Flag hoisting cannot wash away certain sins.

Finally I fail to see how BJP is diverting the Nation's attention :cheesy: ........... do the BJP run Media houses in India ?

lol.... students can be rebellious of authority, not against the Constitution of India.

Raising slogans to break India, threaten India, invoking allah for doing so, threatening to give rise to more terrorists who will attack parliament and other Institutions of democracy is not "freedom of speech".

It is inciting violence. Providing support and inspiration for those who do the actual terrorist act. Inspiring otehrs to follow the same path. It is more assuredly Sedition
.

We have a difficult choice: following you, or following Soli Sorabjee on the subject of sedition, with specific attention to some of the things you have mentioned.

I think I will recommend following Sorabjee. Just this once, you understand; and without prejudice to your high legal standing, and fame in trial courts.

LOL...Soli Sorabjee is a lawyer who takes money to defend his client. Or were you under the impression that he is still the Attorney General of India :cheesy:

So feel free to follow Sorabjee or Dawood Ibrahim. One is almost made to believe your "recommendation" has any value. What a shame its worthless.

He was asked an opinion, not as a defending lawyer, but as a legal authority.

Stick to matters that you know about.

LOL... How do you know that ?

How do you know that Soli Sorabjee had not already taken Kanaiya as a client before he was asked his opinion ? :cheesy: Did a little bird tell you ?

The most logical conclusion would be that he is speaking up for his client and preparing grounds and gathering public sympathy.

Maybe he took this opportunity to score a new client, one which will keep him in the news. Free Publicity.

What an Epic Fail of logical reasoning ............. you should continue to stick to matters you know little about.

.
Who is the traitor? Not one case of sedition has been proved as yet, and the matter of sedition has already been defined by Soli Sorabjee. It differs widely from the reaction of the bhakts to the incident, more or less deciding without the benefit of a trial that A, B or C is guilty of crime X, Y or Z.

Nationalism itself is a questionable virtue; it is not identical with patriotism, it is merely a self-centred assertion that the nationalists' home constituency is to be supported right or wrong. People here have heeded that; they support their nation right or wrong. In this case it is wrong.

Further, for the present government, whose members belong to an extra-political body, it is worth remembering that their sponsors did not participate in the struggle for Indian independence. Savarkar of the Hindu Mahasabha even begged for exemption from any further attention. For 52 years, their headquarters refused to fly the national flag; yet, today they are the hyper-patriots in the equation.

Indian laws are not strict enough to deal with sedition... so a accused get pardoned even with a video evidence... I thought ur intelligent enough to know this...

About RSS not Hoisting a National Flag ... give me a single headlines where RSS has denied flying National Flag or RSS stood against Flying the National Flag by its carders... where as I can show you many photos in which RSS carders carrying the National Flag...

Don't be silly. Video evidence doesn't show any act of sedition, not in these cases under discussion. Your convincing yourself does not count; the courts have to be convinced. And there are very clear guidelines for defining sedition and measuring its incidence. I thought you knew enough of the law to know this, and acknowledge that I thought wrong.

As for the RSS refusal to fly the flag, it refused to do so until forced to do so. Look up the records of the break-in of three youths into their headquarters, and the RSS subsequent reluctant acceptance of the practice. For 52 years of independence before that they refused. So much for your nationalists.

All the superficial loyalty shown by the RSS cadres, or carders, if you insist, were after they got this tight slap in the face.

@- Azaad - No need to be disrespectful, you can argue without insulting.

@Joe Shearer @jamahir @Guynextdoor2 @jbgt90 @Cherokee

First of all media has mishandled this issue very badly. No clarity on anything, on whether students were shouting pro Kashmir slogans or all the videos were tampered, or not every video but some videos were tampered, were those students from JNU or outsiders, if outsiders who invited them, or is it even bad to shout pro Kashmir independence slogans or anti Indian slogans in a university campus, did Nehru made a mistake for promising plebiscite at first place, was Nehru under western pressure when he agreed to ceasfire, are today we under western pressure on Kashmir issue, do any other state bother if Kashmir saperates anyways, are those slogans even anti Indian, on what basis precisely Kanhiya Kumar was arrested by Delhi police, does Arvind Kejrival has no control over Delhi police, how Modi comes in all this, what voice is being suppressed when Rahul Gandhi addressed students of JNU on suppression, is time to recognise Kashmir a saperate state ignoring the instrument of accession and focus on other issues in the country?
