Stripped of the diplomatic-speak, here's the conversation between India and China:
China - stay out of East Asia and don't challenge Chinese agenda in that region
India - stay out of Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc. and don't challenge Indian agenda in that region
Do we have a deal?*
Of course, the decision is easier for India since the US will do the heavy lifting in countering China's rise anyway. Still, it's important for China to keep India out of the mix since any US involvement can be portrayed as neo-imperialist meddling (with echoes of the colonial era). Such a portrayal will be harder to sell if India starts championing anti-China resistance in the region.
(* there's an ominous message in there for Pakistan if Pakistani leaders are willing and able to read the tea leaves.)
FYI, the great arrogant US of A is a sunset power! All you yanks are experts at is mass murders and the killings of thousands of innocent men, women and children from spraying poisonous agent orange in Vietnam where your a$$es got kicked, to Iraq, to the hundreds of drone attacks in Pakistan with the impunity born of arrogance and self conceit. And all for the mirage of establishing a New World Order by your Illuminati and neo-cons who rule the roost in cowboy land.
