Even bombs are used, hartals are important! o_O

No hartals are not important, there are many other ways of protesting without harming others and hartal is not one of them.:agree:

That is true for general public, hartals are a show of strength for political parties, especially the leftist parties. Though hartals have reduced in India to a large extent. :)

In my view biggest plague of this age is these political parties, at least for Pakistan, they serve no purpose just interests of very few and people follow them like idiots, without questioning mind.

@The_Showstopper I didn't say that Saraswati Bandana should be our national anthem! o_O

I said our national anthem should be the prayer in schools. And @jamahir has problem with the national anthem also. :) @Iggy
The below is your very own quote mate

Bhagat Singh photos on currency notes: Add Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's photo also, they also deserve a place there along with Gandhiji.

Make them sing Saraswati Vandana: It should be our national anthem.

Btw, Sanskrit is the mother language of all Indian languages, including the ones Muslims speak. It's not bad to learn some basics of it for 2-3 years in school. :)

But how cunning of you, you go on edit it out as can be seen in your post which says as "Last edited: Today at 9:01 PM"

Post no. 116

Muslims safer in India than anywhere else in world: Yogi Adityanath | Page 8

So what was the need to edit yesterday's post today just after I quoted it....

Anyways @Iggy, You can check the bolded part of post #124 of @Soulspeak who replied him.....

I partially support the following:

* Haj Subsidy to be scrapped: In my opinion all religious subsidies for all communities should be scrapped, that's not the state's business.
- FULLY AGREE.

* Bhagat Singh photos on currency notes: Add Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's photo also, they also deserve a place there along with Gandhiji.
- There are so many currency denominations available. Can be done but I fear it might give rise to further bout of politics regarding which photos should be used.

*Make them sing Saraswati Vandana: It should be our national anthem.
- Non-Hindus wont accept it. Saraswati is a Hindu Godess.

* Btw, Sanskrit is the mother language of all Indian languages, including the ones Muslims speak. It's not bad to learn some basics of it for 2-3 years in school.
- Fully agree on it. In convent schools its essential subject till Class VIII

.
Ladies & Gentlemen,

I present to you some points from the Sangh Agenda which are to be implemented in near future:

1. Make all minorities accept that since their forefathers were Hindus so they are also Hindus. "as in way of life"

2. Once they accept it, then make them sing Saraswati Vandana as it is age old Hindu tradition. Statue of Goddess Saraswati on the entrace of every School.

3. Convert all minority holidays into Governance day, Pending work clearance day, Office Cleaning day and cancel such holidays.

4. Sanskrit mandatory subject till class 12.

5. Haj Subsidy to be scrapped.

6. Missionary Schools to be taken oven by Government.

7. Renaming of all muslim sounding towns n cities of India into Hindu names.

8. Godse temples across country and Bhagat singh photos on currency notes.

.... and many more to come.

P. S. : Please correct me if any of the points mentioned above are incorrect. Feel free to add other points I've missed.

Both Hindus and Muslims were victims in the hands of the rioters of the 2002 Gujrat riot, since none of them tried to leave the country after the riot proves that they agree with the statement.

I mean disservice to mankind by wasting your time in pdf. :P

i have reduced my time on pdf in the last two months. :-) though pdf provides me a platform to spread commie propaganda, especially among the ladies. :D

agreement.

disagree... bhagat singh was socialist... it would be insult to him for him to appear on money within a capitalist set up.

as if i will sing. :D

sanskrit ( via hindi ) is just one of the components of urdu language... the others being arabi, farsi and turkic... and urdu is not the language of muslims only.

I am talking about our national anthem, not Saraswati bandana.

Yeah, you should join CPM, they are in coma and in dire need of fresh blood. :D

Why not? It's our national anthem.

Urdu also has its roots in Sanskrit with some lone words from arabi, farsi and turkic, and all Indian Muslims don't speak Urdu/Hindi.

well, i have spoken to cpm and cpi-ml last year... and you are correct, the old guard in those two moved away from proper activism in the 60's and got involved in electioning and became not much different than congress or janata dal... they need a new path.

1. i being muslim-born reject singing a anthem named after a hindu goddess, and whose form is also imagined ( idolatry ), and which mentions other hindu divinities, and, and when it is attached to a culture which has a goddess for money ( lakshmi ).

2. i being socialist reject a anthem celebrating a capitalism/religion-obsessed culture, and when it also has a goddess for money ( lakshmi ), and when it celebrates mysticism and mythology.

these are the lyrics...

it would cause me pain to sing such a thing... it would be violation of my human rights.

like i said, urdu does not have roots in sanskrit, only that sanskrit ( via hindi ) is one of the contributing languages... urdu was supposedly created in the mughal army camps.

yes, all indian muslims do not speak urdu or hindi, which is why i said urdu should not be confined only to muslims... there have been great urdu non-muslim writers decades past.

Well, this is our national anthem!!

Jana-Gana-Mana-Adhinayaka,
Jaya He
Bharata-Bhagya-Vidhata
Punjab-Sindhu-Gujarata-Maratha
Dravida-Utkala-Banga
Vindhya-Himachala-Yamuna-Ganga
Uchchhala-JaladthaTaranga
Tava Subha Name Jage
Tava Subha Ashisa Mage
Gahe Tava Jaya Gatha.
Jana-Gana-Mangala Dayaka, Jaya He
Bharata-Bhagya-Vidhata,
Jaya He, Jaya He, Jaya He,
Jaya, Jaya, Jaya, Jaya He

English translation:

Thou art the rulers of the minds of all people,

dispenser of India's destiny.

Thy name rouses the hearts of Punjab, Sindh , Gujarat and Maratha,

Of the Dravida and Orissa and Bengal;

It echoes in the hills of the Vindhyas and Himalayas,

mingles in the music of Yamuna and Ganga and is chanted by

the waves of the Indian Sea.

They pray for the blessings and sing thy praise.

The saving of all people waits in the hand,

thou dispenser of India's destiny,

Victory, victory, victory to thee.

Hear it for yourself.

Do I need to explain more? :)

And just in case you have mixed up our national anthem (as above) with our national song, then you are wrong about our national song also, which is as below:

Vande Mataram!
Sujalam suphalam, malayaja shitalam,
Shasyashyamalam, Mataram!
Vande Mataram!

Shubhrajyotsna pulakitayaminim,
Phullakusumita drumadala shobhinim,
Suhasinim, sumadhura bhashinim,
Sukhadam, varadam, Mataram!
Vande Mataram!

English translation:

Mother, I salute thee!
Rich with thy hurrying streams,
bright with orchard gleams,
Cool with thy winds of delight,
Dark fields waving Mother of might,
Mother free.

Glory of moonlight dreams,
Over thy branches and lordly streams,
Clad in thy blossoming trees,
Mother, giver of ease
Laughing low and sweet!
Mother I kiss thy feet,
Speaker sweet and low!
Mother, to thee I salute.

Hope you are clear now. :)

@jamahir You didn't tell me about your objection with national anthem after my posts?

i am just fatigued posting within such threads... my stand has been direct and clear since my joining.

"jana gana mana"... did anyone ask the muslims/christians/sikhs/parsis/socialists whether they are comfortable with this sanskrit proto-religious song and which does not even mention their existence and contributions... this is dictatorship.

many sing it because they do not want to charged under the british-era "sedition" laws.

i don't see this song rousing any revolutionary spirit within me.

1. How this song is proto-religious?

2. Does this song mentions Hindus' existence and contributions either?

3. You didn't know much about India's national anthem and national song (what you posted earlier was not our national anthem), but you did form an opinion about them, right? :)

4. About "Not rousing any revolutionary spirit within you"; what "India' means to you, honestly? :)

@jamahir

@The_Showstopper I didn't say that Saraswati Bandana should be our national anthem! o_O

So what was the need to edit yesterday's post today just after I quoted it....

Anyways @Iggy, You can check the bolded part of post #124 of @Soulspeak who replied him.....

Who do you think you are that I will be cunning to hide to you what I wanted to say?

The first part of the quote is what @Soulspeek wrote in page number 4 (quoted above), and the 2nd part after the ":" was my reply. Since I realized that their are people here who are intelligently challenged to misunderstand that reply, I 'underlined' @Soulspeek 's quote (which he posted sarcastically, just to clarify so that you don't misunderstand him too), and replaced "it" with "The prayer" in my reply so that you understand it clearly.

So, "Make them sing Saraswati Vandana": = @Soulspeek 's sarcastic post, "It should be our national anthem"= my reply, where I meant the prayer song should be our national anthem, not Saraswati Bandana.

However, if you are planning to come up with another stupid accusation, I suggest you not to, because you are free to think whatever pleases you. @Iggy too.

Now I don't know whether your post was a reply for sarcasm or not. I quoted what I saw in your original post before you edited it...

. . . .
You mean like in Babri Mosque...... oh wait.....!!!!
plZ don't call it mosque....it was an illegal structure moreover case is in the court based on the archaeological investigation....but Muslims can built anywhere they want in Ayodhya

.
Hmmmm very nice idea of hartal with swords :dirol:
Do you really think the photographer will be untouched if so many nuts are carrying swords to kill just one man?
I will post a video...nice one on this....similar to the picture. You can search on YouTube if you can... It's about a Hindu barber slitting the throat of a known Muslim customer seeing a Muslim crowd killing a Hindu man outside his shop...only to find out that there was a film shooting happening there...

I never seen @The_Showstopper sympathizing with ISIS. Yea he is critical to Modi government, doesn't mean that he is mocking your religion..
I will quote a few sample posts to you. I have been on this forum longer than you have. Later.. Cheerio...
Besides I am also quite critical of this government... It is too soft on fanatics ... On all sides of the spectrum...
There are many policies that I don't agree with. My intentions and motives are solely dependent on national benefit though.

.
i didn't receive alert for your posts.

you are saying that you didn't ask for "saraswati vandana" to be made national anthem, but as you can see below...
Make them sing Saraswati Vandana : The prayer should be our national anthem.

1. How this song is proto-religious?

>>"Punjab-Sindhu-Gujarata-Maratha"

sindhu is the vedic culture name for indus, yes?? how does that include me or acknowledge me... how is that reference non-religious??

what is maratha but a precise name for certain people who lived/live in the deccan... what about the abyssinian sultanat of janjira... a supposedly diverse nation should have been celebrating the global origin of its history... and marathas were one of the armies who conspired with britishers against possibly the greatest of south asia's historic rulers, tipu sultan... is the mention then some coded message??

>>"They pray for the blessings and sing thy praise."

right there is the signal that the national anthem is a religious prayer... and when the language is sanskrit, what kind of prayer does it become...

what was the need to bring in such words, and why was all this not discarded when the word "socialist" was added to india's description ( sovereign "socialist" republic... )... also connects to my assertion many a time that india's system has never been socialist ( i would know, yes?? ).

2. Does this song mentions Hindus' existence and contributions either?

1. why sanskrit, why not urdu or english... after all, urdu is more indian than sanskrit and english is the connector in india.

2. words like sindhu, maratha, yamuna.

3. You didn't know much about India's national anthem and national song (what you posted earlier was not our national anthem), but you did form an opinion about them, right? :)

1. sincerely, you said "saraswati vandana" and i quoted the lyrics of it.

2. as with any component within the etablishment-imposed/promoted "indian" culture, this too is unnecessarily complicated... national anthem and national song?? what was the need??

4. About "Not rousing any revolutionary spirit within you"; what "India' means to you, honestly? :)

india is a nation i was born in but my loyalty is with humanity, whether they live in delhi or dakar or denmark... i being socialist by attitude do not understand why indian army would want to kill some iraqi or north korean for no other reason than different culture and something very indian ( sadly ) called "national interests".

67 years after india supposedly became independent came the uno-who declaration "india - suicide capital of the world" and 69 deaths in darjeeling tea estates while no dog in india has gone hunger or insecure since 1998... and a few months later, yesterday came the interview of one of the torturers of amaanat that they gang-raped and tortured her ( iron rods and other ways ) because "girls shouldn't wear such dresses and shouldn't be outside in the evenings".

dray, the real question should be... what is the reason for india's continued existence... i remember the photo of two ladies in delhi, december 2012, holding a banner saying in hindi "india may or may not exist in future but the atrocities against ladies must cease to exist".

i would have liked india's anthem to be acknowledgement of human history from the point of view of a revolutionary society, a society whose aim is to link up with other progressive societies and groups in the world.

i want a communist humanity without the unnatural boundaries of nation, with people living in true democracy and where common sense prevails. :)

@The_Showstopper @Aamna Ali @Razia Sultana
Karl Marx, who propounded the communist ideology, said that Religion is the opiate of mind. Thats the reason the communist states are atheists. Your type of communism is like China wedding Saudi Arabia meaning chinese political system minus atheism plus Islamic shariah. Thats what you give an impression from your writing. Its very easy to read between the lines.
As regards to India's national symbols, no one should have any doubts or problems about them. The Lion Capital, the national emblem, is taken from a Buddhist sculpture and also the blue wheel of our national flag is taken from the same buddhist sculpture at Sarnath. Does that make India biased towards buddhism or does that compromise India's secularism?
National Anthem is written in Bengali and not in Sanskrit. National Song is written in Sanskrit and equal status is given to our Quaumi Tarana Sare Jahan Se Achha which is written in Urdu. No Indian has any problem with any of our national symbols. The people who can sing bollywood songs should not have any problem singing our national songs.
