NEW DELHI: In another controversial statement, Samajwadi Party MP Azam Khan said on Saturday that Muslims in the country are being punished for their decision to not go migrate to Pakistan after the partition in 1947.

"Why our ancestors did not go to Pakistan? Well, they considered India as their nation. This is our fault. Maulana Azad, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel and even Bapu had appealed Muslims to not migrate to Pakistan," he said when asked about his views on growing incidents of mob lynching.

Khan, an MP from Rampur in Uttar Pradesh, claimed that Muslims have not been able to live a dignified life in the country. "We have been living a very disgusting life since 1947, and we are very ashamed of it," he said.

He also alleged that the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh is fabricating land dispute cases against him because he managed to defeat BJP candidate Jaya Prada in the Lok Sabha elections.

The state government recently put Khan's name on anti-land mafia portal after several complaints were registered against him for allegedly grabbing lands in Rampur, his home district.

Khan, a former state Cabinet minister, is known for his controversial remarks. During the Lok Sabha elections, he said Jaya Prada wears khaki underwear, a reference to her alleged affiliation with the RSS.

"I won the election against powerful people despite their several tactics. I am being punished for that mistake. The Rampur district magistrate went to counting stations wearing a saffron shirt and harassed voters. Still, I emerged victorious," he said.

If NE states of India was given to BD then it can look at accepting a large chunk of Indian Muslims.
BD would still need to keep 2/3rd of the population as ethnic Bengali Muslims to keep it's integrity.

I don't think Bangladeshi one is from Indian lobby. She probably wants US visa to stay there under refugee status. Because her claim is by simple math, ridiculous. over a thousand disappearance per day and nobody notices.

As for why no Indian minority there, I have no clue but they probably weren't allowed by India since the purpose for the visit was clear.

165 million Bangladeshi. Assuming this was directed at only those two but no. Bangladeshis aren't brother, sister, distant cousin, friend or enemy with anyone. Only diplomatic gestures and business. A Bangladeshi be it Muslim, Hindu, Cristian, Jew or whatever, is only "brother" with another Bangladeshi. Religion doesn't or at least shouldn't matter to any Bangladeshi to have brotherhood within it's boundaries with it's citizens. Bangladesh is a poor developing country. Any other people outside it's boundaries are irrelevant as long as it doesn't affect the country. Of course, Bangladesh shouldn't actively support or do business with anyone doing crimes against humanity within certain limit (being Bangladesh isn't overly affected) like Israel.

Goodwills and positive gestures by other countries should be returned in kind such as I love Japan for giving Bangladesh a lot of developmental support since it's inception. But there are no innate closeness or brotherhood.

Yes I know that this will not happen unless India disintegrates.

In actual fact the reality is that Kashmir needs to go to Pakistan and NE needs to be split between BD and China(S Tibet). Then there will be peace in S Asia.

I am sure that in return for handing over Kashmir to Pakistan, it would accept few 10s of millions of Indian Muslims.
BD could also accept maybe 100 million non-Bengali Muslims as well as the 30 or so million W Bengali Muslims in return for getting most of the NE states and areas of W Bengal adjacent to BD where most of the Muslim population resides..

The case of the Hindu woman is deep. It could be a process of seeking asylum. However it could be related to regional politics too, but it's not wise to comment about it since we have no concrete evidence.
