The practice of Sati is long gone. Hinduism evolved from such stupid practices. If something still happens, you will see the entire Hindu community openly criticizing them - not supporting the activities of those who instigated it.

I don't think you understand, as you probably have never seen the actual act or have any understanding of the concept, that marriage is not a crime in any part of the world. I hope, someday somewhere you do get to see a marriage and understand what it is, in the meantime I feel extremely sorry for you.

and what about the supporters in this forum ? I can see two of them. Also they are quoting Quranic verses in support of their defence. Are they wrong ?

I want to debate that but we need to clean up the thread.

The verses should be quoted and read in full NOT selectively neither half parts.

The Quran verse/s which they quote also say/s that Allah says that you can marry more than one only if you are able to treat all your wives equally and justly , then Allah says in the same verse that "Ye will never be able to do justice" so what does it mean?

It clearly means that you can not marry multiple wives so it it is advised not to be unjust.

i didnt read their quotations, but most probably they are quoting those verses, which say that a person is allowed to marry 4 provided that he can be just ( he cannot be just, this is also said in the Quran in the same verse). so if we can build another law on the previous one, i.e that the man must have the permission from the first wife, i see nothing wrong with it, building upon an already existing law is not forbidden is Islam
