Muslim Woman Fired From Work For Wearing Hijab In US

...because from what I know, the employee has no legal requirement to do anything.
Click on the link I provided earlier. One example is the employee who was fired for violated the dress code but did NOT tell his employer it was for religious reasons. In such a case the employer is in the right and the employee is in the wrong.

Again, it isn't for the employer to judge the employee's religious beliefs or practices for violating the dress code, it's just that the employer needs to be informed that this is the explanation. The employee does not need to provide any details or justification after that.

relink it please, pdf is acting wonky, so its kind of hard to go through the pages to find your comment.

Also, if what you say is true, than I was almost right; Either way, my main point is correct.

She scammed her employer by not wearing it in the interview or first two days. Suddenly her spirit worke up on the third day at the job? Looks like she did it knowingly to create a law suit settlement. I'm sure the poor dentist will a throw her a bone or two to settle. Muslims should be proud how and what all their religion is being used for by their fellow muslims.

Comparison to Sikhs is idiotic. No Sikh will ever not wear the turban for an interview and then suddenly start on the 3rd day.

It is a completely different case if she wore it to the interview and was denied the job because of that - then she'd have had a case

I think that one should point out that there are indeed times and jobs when the religious garb stuff can't be accommodated. For example, jobs with dangerous machinery and long scarves don't mix.

In some other cases the employee may refuse the accommodation and thus be terminated. Example 15 is one such case, where the employee refused to wear two face masks - one for his face mask and one for his beard - because it was "unreasonable". I have actually seen this. It looks ridiculous. But if you're a patient in a hospital, why would you care? (Actually, I felt it was very reassuring.) And if the patient doesn't care and the employer doesn't care, why should the employee? Surgical garb is not meant to be fashionable.

I think I once saw a policeman with a turban instead of a hat. In this case, I suppose the test of practicality applies: will the turban fall off while chasing a suspect? If not, no problem. If yes, an accommodation might be to apply makeup glue to ensure the turban stays on. (And maybe adding the shield to the turban itself?)
