out of around 100 kindergarten schools

20 schools didnot give admission not to a single muslim kid.

17 schools gave admission to one 1 muslim kid each.

from these stats one cannot say that discrimination was done, yet shows the condition of the community.

in a letter to CM, social activist abdul khaliq claims that deliberate attempt are being made to keep muslim kids out of school...

he further said that despite Muslim population being 15% of india, the admission rate is about 0.5% kids were given admission.

?BBC Urdu? - ?????? - ?’?????? ??? ???? ???? ?? ????? ???? ??? ???‘?

This is quite disgusting and deliberate to keep the Muslim community at arm's length from Education....

must keep in mind that Delhi is Muslim Majority city.

discrimination???? nowadays in delhi schools due to diff types of quotas the percentage of children from upper class is decreasing every year. they can also term it as discrimination but no one will take it coz they are from upper class.

P.S- Delhi is not a muslim majority city, muslims constitute only 11% of total population of delhi.

You're reading too much into it.

I suggest you first try and gain familiarity with the admission system in Delhi's schools.

I know of a school where 49 girls were admitted for one boy. This year itself.

Now will you allege discrimination against boys?

If you still want to be ignorant and play the game of brownie points on an internet forum, be my guest.

OMG really ??? jeez.... this is how you know how horrible situation is there for Muslims.... so sad

Its terrible and it doesnt only show real indian face but also calls upon other muslim countries to act upon and carve out another muslim state out of india where muslims can live peacefully with all rights..

. . . .
It is tough to get admission for any kid to Delhi schools. It is dumb to give this a religious angle

But you are a secular state, right? Every citizen enjoys same rights, no religious consideration/discrimination.

Anyways this report does not clear anything. The only definite point it has raised is allocation of the seats to Muslims according to their percentage in total population, which according to same report is 15% but admissions given to them were less than 0.5%.

.
Moreover why don't they go for govt. schools what is wrong with govt. schools of delhi ??thousands of kids study there..

as u clearly mentioned that we are a secular state so admissions are not given on religious lines. no matter what is the percentage of a particular community in population the admissions are not given acc to it. in delhi the admission criteria for kinder garden school is very tough & complicated, kids as well as their parents have to sit in interviews & then final list is released. don't give it a religious angle, btw muslims in india are known as a community who focuses on education less then other communities. so possibility is that they had given least number of app forms.

P.S- muslims are 13% & not 15% of total pop in india.

This like saying, why didn't the rich guy just buy a BMW instead of a Mercedes
...uh because he didn't WANT TO!

I mean india claims to be a democracy so they should be able to study wherever they want to.

does anyone stopping them from studying where they want to?? Zootanali was just stating that if someone is unable to get admission in a private school then govt schools are also there.
